  1. Hi Pete To be honest I am quite happy with our original plan Upton Parkway should be "the end of the line". I do think the station building with parcels office next door would work. The lower platform would still be around 4' in length this would be ideal for the small mail trains and 2 car Thumpers etc... I will be honest a class 50 + 4 coaches I can live with so no panic there. My gut feeling is to have the station buildings at ground level and have a slightly smaller platform - Thats the original plan I like it so lets stick with that. All the best Darren NSE DAZ
  2. Hi all Blooming hell I have been to work for one day and I come back to Pete rocking backwards and forwards under the stairs, reduced platform size, and a possible layout extension!! Now after a little thought I am liking the sound of this through station idea? I also think housing the station building above platform level would also make sense. Pete how about another fiddle yard the station end? This then making Upton Parkway a though station!! Getting my coat and leaving the room Darren NSE DAZ
  3. Hi all Next up on the traction front is 20901 Nancy - She will be forming part of Chipman Weedkilling Train. This loco features the superb Legomanbiffo sound file and weathered by The Weathering Works. (Picture courtesy of The Weathering Works) All the best NSE DAZ
  4. Hi WCML100 Yes Scott is a top guy and can not recommend his work enough.
  5. Hi Pete You have never owned a 50 you don't know what you are missing out on It does look good seeing both scenic boards together, looks like have plenty of operational space. Ripple Lane parcels office looks stunning, I like it how it is it would be a shame modify it.......... I wonder if Upton Parkway could be a Red Star station mmmmmm I will post the signal box over to you tomorrow so you can place her in the available space. All the best Darren NSE DAZ
  6. Hi all With the construction of Upton Parkway now underway I thought it would be a good time to sort out the traction for this layout. Most of Croydon North Street's fleet will transfer over to this build, with North Street now being put in storage for the winter months it has freed me up some time to service the fleet. Starting with 50 046 Ajax in the battered large logo livery. This loco has an Olivias sound chip fitted and has been treated to a very grimy weathering courtesy of The Weathering Works (Scott) Picture courtesy of The Weathering Works More fleet news soon All the best Darren
  7. Pete that Class 50 and 5 Mk2s snaking its way across the station throat has kept me awake all night dribbling in anticipation Yes the signal box I have is very similar to the signal box at my local station Templecombe on the West of England mainline (as Geep7 said) so think would fit the bill Good work so far, I have a really good feeling about the flow of that track work. All the best Darren NSE DAZ
  8. Hi Pete I must admit I am loving the "flow" of the station throat pointwork. Pete if there's enough room for a signal box lets have one! I do like a signal box and looking at the space available is it would be rude not too. I dont know what your thoughts are on the ready to plonk items are? But I do own the Bachmann 44-0059 Art Deco Signal Box but not certain if this would be suitable sandwiched between tracks? mmmmmm Look forward to the pictures Speak soon Darren NSE DAZ
  9. Hi Pete I did not know about he Green Scenes incident!! I will be honest I love the ballast effect on North Street, the fine ballast....once weathered up it really looks the part. So yes......Woodland Scenics fine grey granite ballast I would be very happy with. Cheers Daz
  10. Pete welcome back Like you my main focus after this weekend will be on Upton Parkway as Croydon North Street has its last exhibition for this year until it returns in February 2017. Ballasting can be very therapeutic!! NOT yes I feel your pain on this one I am still in favour of using the Cobalt point motors at this stage, Mike knows me to well as I am already sorting them announcements out for Upton Parkway Look forward to the updates All the best Darren NSE DAZ
  11. Haha Mike you love them announcements! I can tell by the amount of time you hanged around North Street playing with that Voyager

  14. Hi all A couple of shots of Croydon North Street at RailEX Taunton. A fantastic exhibition at a superb venue with great hospitality from the Somerset Railway Modellers Club. Not only did I have to give a talk on the local radio station Tone FM but North Street only went and won it's first trophy the "SMC Chairmans Award" over the moon is an understatement!!! . Pete 75C please also except this award without you there would have been no North Street!! A few pictures from the weekend. Good to meet with so many of you as well. ) All the best Darren NSE DAZ

I must also say the hospitality from Worthing MRC was superb thanks all for making us feel welcome. A couple of shots from the show. All the best Darren NSE DAZ
  23. Well we now have bookings up to the end of 2018 I think that's the limit and then North Street will then retire from the exhibition scene. I do like the sound of early retirement by the sea mmmmmm but we will have no time for this with Upton Parkway in the pipeline Pete Cheers Darren NSE DAZ
