  1. Slighty beefed up Hurst NEM roof pods just stuck on te dtv's...and not a drop of superglue on the fingers! Impressed I am at the glue thing
  2. Have been having a play with dimensions for buffer beams and the side valance things are at a very early stage but plastic has been cut and well....wait and see
  3. Thirty six triangular sections now glued on to nine of the cars that make up my twelve (the PTMV's only have one long lifting section) Just got to drill the door opening things again now, moved to allow the lifting plates to be in their rightful places. As the part is only .8mm and 3.5mm long bit hard to take a close up photo off...Least I know they are there!
  4. Been cutting lifting sections tonight 4mm long fiiting over the next few days, thats the triangular plastruct in the picture above, only thing is its showed up a flaw with the circular door open which must be in a different place 319 vs 325! awww well out with the scalpel! Ian
  5. B*gger ive been rumbled......its a joint suprise release this is the prooving! Lanky...
  6. Hi Phil, Godfreys lad reckons hes putting it in his 319 with a tweak..I am looking at how it might fit in the TAV and have the PTMV as unpowered we can only ave a look! Ian
  7. Good day out to York which got all my shopping...and a few good constructive chats to boot! The chassis is something that will be looked at by the R&D section to see how it could be used as a fleet standard...I like my standards.. Oh and the milky bar is on Mike! UF Bits Thank you! Mr Edge.
  8. Loving the original provincial 143? in the bright blue on display today at York...very nice indeed Ian
  9. Looking forward to a trip up north hopefully, Saturday to York. On my shopping list will be sprung oleo buffers.....I can only try Picking up some nice milky bar bits and bobs from Mr Edge (if not I will leave him the wedge for them!) I think I may have a look at Replica's chassis's and have a look at their worth to the project (Ta Phil H!) I will also hopefully be able to get some fine triangular section strip from Squires. Last few days has seen work continue in small burst on the other DTV's getting them to a similair status of build. I invested in some more filler primer too today from Halfords in Swadlincote, oh and some bauxite ready for a top coat! I can dream.... Ian
  10. My Step Grandad was inspector in the box from the 70's til his retirement in the mid eighties. Enojyed a few hours in the box. I think it is safe to say my interest was of his making.. Ian
  11. Its good stuff filler primer takes minor blemishes out a treat!
  12. Erm I have called them loads of things over the last few months, biscuits aint one of them Martin! Ian
  13. Crackers is me...haha biscuits are for scale purposes! As for a completion maybe June? . So no rush or imposed deadline for me. Its been a nice project to undertake after over ten years of thinking hmmmm I wonder! Ian
  14. Few images as promised, the routine has been glue fill, wet emery, then spray with grey primer, then look for any more imperfections, then spray with the yellow filler which is a little thicker than normal primer but doesnt clogg detail. Used with the grey I seem to be able to see how things are coming along or not as the case maybe! The only main area of work on the sides now the windows are looking better or lack of them is the join between roof and side which depsiter being glued and a good fit left a little lip that needs careful trimming back, my seam scraper takes care of that though. We had a little drive out the other night to see 1S96 pass through Lichfield A 325 at full pelt didnt give much opportunity for photos!
  15. Hi Phil, Expect some images in the coming hours...they just dont look much given they are amber.... Ian
  16. Last couple of days have been taken up adding layers of filler to the cab sides and fronts. Thankfully nearly done now, out with the emery in a few days getting them blended takes an ages but a job best done slow and steady.
  17. Bit more light spraying to see what things look like, grey and yellow certainly show up any flaws or minor blemishes. Thankfully though the windows and their ghoting are becoming less day by day! Feels like I have been saying that for months, guess I have but it is working! Pics to follow.. Ian
  18. More bits finnished up today an a inner car had a quick undercoat, showing only minor finnishing needed!
  19. Another little job out the way tonight is the marking out and cutting of the recess' for the shore supply on the three PTMV's had done one end as a test, the others took minutes each. Image to follow
  20. All gangways now glued inplace just have to go back ánd add the three strips per end now, only done two ends to see what went where. Ian
  21. Hi Dan, Thanks I like detail more so replicating it over a fleet! Who you looking to order them from? Its one hell of a shopping list I can tell you. Ian
  22. Thank you 69843, I dont love em either! but was drawn to the fact that they are a bit oddball! Hopefully I will keep your interest a little longer til they get painted!! or "finnished" Ian
  23. I have made a start pn the cab air-con on the left hand side of the DTV. I have measured out the dimensions from photographs and am happyish that the first dimension is 23mm from the fron of the ribbed roof section going back nearly 6mm, which just happens to be the size of aone of my small rectangular files I marked them up with CD marker then located the approx centre and put a 2.5mm drill in a pin-vice through, I then used a reamer, a nice tool to use as it opens up the hole graduallyand you can control how you cut down. The holes are then opened up with some scalpel blades then finnished with a small file as mentioned above which allows the finnished holes to be self checked as they are all doen with the same file! Oh and as can be seen all six cabs are now stuck on!!!
  24. 325 325 325.....I just love em...
