Hi Ron,
OOOh forgive me for some reason, I thought this was 7mm! durrrrr
Etches I like.....
My idea was to use this sort of on the round using the trams as way of a view blocker cameo sort of scene so I could model the formation of Castliefields Junction. More for operational interest than a scale replica of the area if that makes sense!
I should have got it from the size of the beer cans!
Ian
I fancied this bridge as a view blocker come end of sort scenic break for my model of Oxford Road, seeing this model in such detial has made me have doubts it would be acheiveable in 4mm and to the level of detail you have so wonderfully acheived!
How long do you think it would take to make a smaller one??
Ian
There are two codes of rail code 82 the EM Gauage 1m metre which works well with the bases then Code 83 which can ribbon finger tips like nobodys...
Ian
What a shame your statement is tho 390, 350 390, 66, 390, 220 66, 92.
But what a model it could make! trains running and just passing by and throw in the recent intermodal releases...Crewe it is! cracking virtual model taking shape in my head!
Ian
I guess the operation of the 350's is a bit wider than some of the other desiro family.
I think depsite not actually needing one for a layout I am building or want to build I may get one just cos I can!
Looking forward to it
Ian
Its a tricky thing to photograph and provide a lighting anything metallic that looks as it does to anyone persons eye, I think once logos are on and maybe a satin finnish if thats at all possible they will look even more the dogs danglies
Ian
start over..make sure everything is greasse free fibre glass the lot the whole job.
over do the crossing take to much metal away and after a few it will click and youll be banging em out for fun!
Ian
I would have a look at using some etched bogies and slapping the plastic on the side! looking good.
I have always wondered why there was a gap on some the floor doesnt match the sides do they really! I had a stab at a few by adding some refinforcing strip.
Ian
Ta very much bigbloke, Aye I was reffering to the images contained within this post, which are very clearly plastic, hence the question posed to Dapol Dave of this parish!
Ian
They do look very nice, why though have plastic ladders and such made Dapol Dave, ust to have them replaced? Nice touch just seems a shame to go to trouble of making them to see them replaced.
Maybe thats why I dont design and make RTR!
Ian
Branchlines offers a complete remotor and trailing options, I have bits and bobs for 16 of them!
Considering it was another Hornbvy model that was tooled as the real ones where being built it stacks up as an OK model and what unit hasn't had alterations or such like over a twenty year service?
I dont think there is actually much in either kit between Highlevel and Branchlines. I have highlevel power bogies but for the 142's I went Branchlines.
I had a thread on demu forum which set out my thoughts on doing a fleet of them.
Ian
Its amazing really it took as long as it did for someone to get onto the glazing as a stand alone product? cheap enough arent they too.
Looks good and as you say simple enough to do.
