  1. A sensible selling option I think from Bachmann. As long as they are released in numbers that allow people to create if they wish the various foromations they turned up in over the years. And lets not forget the opportunity if needed of adding possibly detail from Colin Craigs excellent offerings, for those of us who prefer that sort of twist.
  2. I am with you Andy, where are these bargain bins? all so often quoted. Don't people realise they are shwoing prejudice and bias even unkowingly making such rash statements? OHLE is a bread apart and such needs a little more tlc, with few current spec models available more pwer to Bachmann for their 90. Ian
  3. 142 old tooling...dusted off as and when...I thought they had been hawking a version recently? ripe for a new tooling by someone though id say... 153 new model...donr to a budget but new all the same 156 reworked old Lima and again I could swear they have been out and about..body almost a silk purse the underframe well 155 ex Dapol tooling flawed in its original research...back to the undeframe of the 156 ah yes a sows ear. 150 suffered from a big lot of chassis but wrong? its how Bachmann chose to do it, maybe the term should be couldve of done it better, shape wise its a 150 to me? A DVT aint a class 82 pal...if only someone did. Now back to the proper purpose of the thread I said hello to PC1 in the NRM in 1978, the next time I felt such a aweeeeeee was during a visit to NASA... I think I too despite not needing one for any layout will be cracking out the credit card and getting a set.
  4. Was more the total sum! than the colour but yeah useful to be able to keep things in the bought box as the build goes on! Jonathan, I congrtaulate you its a great piece of engineeering and modelling. Ian
  5. Jonathon, WOW what a box! For anyone considering putting their name down for future batchs, do it ASAP! Mine arrived very safely packed andit was straightaway whats this bit?? hmm wonder how this looks. A few hours in and ive just got round to *starting* to read the comprehensive pdf. But nowt has been removed from anything yet. I intent to do this justice. Ian
  6. A pressure ventilator, and to me for me looks spot on, the nee Airfix ventilators for me have always been under nourished. Did 298 posts get the same ratings ? Just thought I was giving my 2p worth...
  7. Give em a rub flat...then burnish the rail and sleepers. Once done dunk the lot in hot water.
  8. Get some fibreglass and give the whole area a cracking burnish will aid you no end.
  9. Having had a drop off at Tamworth of my Mum and Sis. late Thursday a 12 car 325 belted past....could be a need for a few more of these.. Could be a resin casting job though...thoughts?
  10. Hospital visiting got bit busy...hoping things settle soon

  11. For all the trackwork or just those rather tasty yards??
  12. I fancied a challenege...and then the real ones mainly work as 12 car sets so erm...I got me hands to the bottom of my pockets and sent me pennies off! Current state of play is reflected in the thread..they are getting closer to being looked at again as my step-gradnson likes em!

  15. Wonder if thats the lodge walking? Makes sense of what was there seeing these pics. Are they the baths demolished few years ago to make way for Alsop's extension?
  16. Bit of progress on getting it a roundy roundy...havent used my Templot for a while, funny how it comes back even if its a new verison too!
  17. Doesnt look too bad posted up does it? I know the first background trial was a bit jitterry as there where a number of twists and distortion on the small OS map, which looked OK to the eye but blown up and trying to draw nice flowing track something had to give.
  18. Having thoughts on motors and such like again, and having had success on ebay for some 150 bodies for something else the thought hit me at using as CWJ did the gubbins from a few 150's such as motor lights etc in the 325's, makes for a cost effective way of getting lights and motor and loads of other bits and bobs, the older first release chassis block wont matter a jot as it is hidden and will add much grunt! Also keeping an eye on Hurst website for a new batch of LWB pantographs..only need two more 91/325 ones and I can get em all done at roughly the same time!
  19. Sorry I may have missed it, but what wheel size and wheelbase black beetle are best used?
  20. 115 116 118 121 123 124 (leaving off MTK's renditions) 126 127 ?
  21. 303's basically mirrored the 304 North West's diagrams. They were at both CE and LG Liverpool-Crewe being a regular for some ex ScR ones. 305 were drafted into the North West late in their careers spending the majority of their lives at Eastham? 310's are also available as a kit made by Southern Pride.
