  1. That's a fantastic plan... position of the points ans baseboard joints will be critical but love the plan. As another (similar idea) try getting hold of a copy of the December 1996 Railway Modeller for 'Ivydale (All Hallows) - 16mm scale standard gauge layout in 12' by 2' and is a wonderful depiction of a light railway terminus. I'm sure something similar could be replicated in 7mm scale in around 10'. It's my favourite layout of all time!!
  2. Hi Steve, Just caught up on this thread, absolutely fantastic use of the space, I really love what you've done and the modelling is superb. Keep the updates coming, particularly some further pictures! It shows what you can do in 2mm scale with some careful planning and how muc operational capacity you can cram in to a small space. Sorry if I've missed it, but what radius points have you used? Cheers, David
  3. Chris, That's absolutely fantastic news! Look forward to seeing the next step come to fruition. With or without matching coaching stock I'll be committed and on board to support the project. David
  4. Thanks very much for that update Roy, I'm looking forward to it arriving. Hopefully it won't be too long until we see some official progress. Cheers, David
  5. I'm on the look out for an O gauge 'Bachmann Brassworks' Class J94/Austerity tank loco. If anyone has one they're looking to dispose of please drop me a PM. Thanks!
  6. Has there been any further word on the J72 following the initial announcement?
  7. Congratulations Dave. I am pleased to hear of your success to date and and for the future. It is all down to your hard work and enthusiasm, you are a credit to yourself, your business and this hobby. Clearly not all plain sailing but on the whole very positive. Thank you for what you've delivered in 2016 and all the best for 2017! It promises to be an interesting and exciting year! All the best, David
  8. Just caught up with this thread... absolutely FASCINATING! I am a big fan of Scandinavian/Nordic countries and their railways (happy to include Finland too not to get too mixed with our geographies!) and love something a bit different. Although mainly focused on Denmark and the DSB, I find all of the countries interesting. I look forward to seeing more when you are ready to update but this is right up my street and you're doing a fantastic job ploughing a lone and very inventive furrow. Cheers and keep the good work coming! David PS - thanks for the update to my Danish thread too, it much appreciated.

    Ask Dave

To draw a line under this... I know nothing of the proposals. I have no interest in the Class 92, it was a general point about what I thought(!!) was the status of the projects in the timetable on Dave's website. I am obviously mistaken and do apologise if I have spread mass confusion/doubt. I can assure you there is no malice or under-handedness in my part simply a misunderstanding.

    Ask Dave

None what so ever. All I said was, as a general point on all his projects, I thought it best to wait for an official update from Dave when he is ready, rather than hearsay and speculation fuelled by t'interweb.
  11. That's fascinating Martin. Please do show us more! Can you share anymore about the prototype too? David

    Ask Dave

I'm not sure. I think it's best to wait for the official update/brochure in the new year from Dave.

    Ask Dave

I think it only relates to DJM's own products (not commissions etc?) and is the latest position. Dave has also said he'll be issuing an update on all products via a brochure/catalogue in the new year.

    Ask Dave

Dave has been very clear that the O gauge projects will follow the N gauge ones (which follow the 4mm ones!). The latest product timetable is on the website http://djmodels.co.uk/?page_id=422. Until there is anything officially announced then I would take this is the best guide. So no, there is nothing to indicate cancellation.

Welcome to the 21st Century I suppose... instant gratification or else

    Ask Dave

Some of the recent posts make me laugh, others sadly make me dispair. Ultimately everyone wants the same thing, that is a high quality product. I for one have absolutely no doubt that this is what Dave will deliver in time. The projects he has already brought to the market show he has exacting standards and that every item will be worth the wait. Support for Dave is the best approach. The "I want it now" attitude that is increasingly apparent in our hobby is so frustrating... I am absolutely certain Dave will prove the doubters wrong.
  17. Totally agree with so that, I'm going to break my rule for this one and will commit to a pre-order! It's my favourite diesel prototype and I cannot wait for it to come along Mind I wonder whether Steve can be persuaded to do a 3ft gauge version

    Ask Dave

I completely agree with that, I was just trying to offer some constructive thoughts to mitigateany flak. However as I said, it is Dave's livelihood, just out toys.

    Ask Dave

Whilst I agree Les and I am fully suportive of Dave and his hard work, it is probably useful to have a broad indication of timescales. To me it wouldn't matter if it was 1 year or 3 until the 7mm scale stuff comes on stream (I'm patient!!) but it might give others some comfort. It could help with budget planning etc. As I say, the timescales don't really concern me but very broad indications of a year for releas (whether 2018 or 2028!!!) might placate some people. I'm fully behind Dave and everything he is doing and will support him all the way, particularly through this difficult patch. His honesty, customer service and approach to his business can only be commended. Ultimately it's his livelihood but our toy trains!!
  20. Yes... as a wild stab in the dark I guess it's going to be a J69 Look forward to hearing when Steve is ready to spill the beans though!
  21. Thanks for the update Steve! I'll be pre-ordering as soon as you're ready to take them Around 6 months to save up... £2 a day or so... Bargain Based on the Class 15 I have no doubt it is going to be spectacular. The difficult decision is just going to be which option to go for...
  22. Yes, yes yes!! Thanks for confirming Steve, I for one am absolutely over the moon with this!! I've had everything crossed for months that this would be the prototype but didn't want to get my hopes up... As I said above, the Ruston announcement means that Christmas has come early to chez south_tyne! I look forward to reading all about it when you can make an official announcement. In the meantime, enjoy a well earned rest after a busy weekend. Thank you for all your hard work
  23. If it is the 48ds I'll happily walk to LLCo HQ to collect mine!! Christmas has come early, absolutely FANTASTIC news
  24. Mine too!! I think I've deduced the prototype but I could well be wildly wrong
