  1. Baron, it’ here: It’s 00-P (zero zero - P) ZG.
  2. They’re working on a website: http://www.five79.co.uk/. My wallet is already trembling...
  3. At the risk of appearing controversial, and given the departmental numbering of DW150267; I’m tempted to say that’s actually the short-lived “gulf red” livery as applied for a relatively short period in the early 1960s.
  4. This is why I never get to sit on my own sofa...
  5. Anticipation sated - arrived in Didcot this morning. Another excellent issue - and good to see Mrs. Trellis back, as well. MRJ isn’t truly MRJ without a contribution from Mrs. T.
  6. Significantly less than if we were to all post in the meantime that our subs copies hadn’t arrived yet... P.S. Nothing yet in, ironically, Didcot... P.P.S Not complaining - still enjoying the anti....ci.....pation.
  7. I live in Didcot and am not currently isolated - if I can be of any assistance in collecting and delivering to the post office, please let me know.
  8. Not necessarily - the WHS in Didcot (ironically) houses the town’s post office, but according to the WHS website it is currently “temporarily closed”...
  9. No worries - in the overall scheme of things, this is a long, long way down the list of things about which to be concerned! And it’ll be something to which to look forward when we come out of the other side.
  10. Forgive me if this is a really stupid question - but is the fish van 4mm? If you did say so (and you probably did) then I’ve certainly missed it... Thanks in advance!
  11. Twenty-odd years ago I was flying reasonably regularly to St. Louis with TWA, and this was standard practise - particularly on the return overnight flight, which was never more than one third full. Quite often at checkin there would the offer of a business class upgrade, which was invariably turned down as it was more comfortable laid out in the back.
  12. Amidst all of the chaos, a tiny bit of modelling-related respite from the bbc website: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/uk-england-london-51932009/the-steampunk-model-railway-enthusiast-having-designs-used-by-Hornby
  13. I’ve always thought that the W1 wheel arrangement was actually a 4-6-2-2, because of the arrangement of the trailing wheels. Hattons describe it in the video as a 4-6-4. Have I been wrong all these years? Either way, in its original form, the W1 is one of the most handsome steam locomotives ever made - the very epitome of Art Deco - and in spite of my modelling preference of late fifties western region; I’m going to have to have one. **sigh**.
  14. I’m so sorry - I can only apologise. I know you’re not angry - you’re just disappointed. I’m just off to my room to think about what I’ve done.
  15. And a splendid full-page advertisement for “Twilight of the Goods”*, the new Don Rowland book of wagons. Already ordered from that very nice publisher in Bath. *Or “Gottendammerwagen” in the original German, by Richard Wagener** ** Sorry.
  16. But it is a Class A Controlled Model Railway Publication... It’s probably the crack cocaine of the magazines - allegedly.
  17. Bit disappointing to see that the OP has not come back to this thread. The reason I asked for sight of the documentation the OP received is that I’m also involved in a couple of motoring forums, where periodically someone will claim that they were prosecuted for 71 in a 70, or 31 in a 30, or another speed not conforming the current ACPO guidance about at what point prosecution should commence. However, nobody has ever provided any evidence to support their claim. I have no reason to disbelieve the OP; but if the OP were to share the (redacted) documentation, this would be the first definitive proof that this is actually happening, and which would be useful information to share in other forums.
  18. Which is why I’ve asked the original poster to show us the documentation he received (suitably redacted).
  19. This is very interesting. Please could you post (appropriately redacted, obviously) images of the paperwork you received from the police about this prosecution?
  20. Such a flyover at Didcot would be clearly visible from Gravitas Towers here in Didcot, which I’d like but which would probably be appalling to the rest of the inhabitants of the town...
  21. Just watching the new series of QI, and Sandy Toksvig has just announced that she is a keen railway modeller and is currently constructing a layout in her office at home.
  22. Just received an email from Hatton's unilaterally cancelling my pre-order... Any one else had this? Edit to add - all versions appear to have been removed from the Hatton's website...
  23. I'm so sorry, but when I saw this thread, the first image that popped into my head was Peter Sellers as Inspector Clouseau shouting "Not now, Kato!"...
