Today was the first Ex-Works run of the "Bentley Belle" after an extended overhaul and upgrade, so naturally we had to have an inspector along for a footplate ride.

Damian, Have you come up with a solution for the Industrial line fiddle yard yet? Slightly off-topic, who do I grovel to for the chance to come behind the layout for a good look at all of the operations and layout, and also for a chance to have a little play when you are at Ally Pally? Kev

Would they be Kinky Boots????? It would appear that there is some crossover with this thread and the on-going "HOT PANTS" thread in wheeltappers, as well as some of the discussions about young ladies in skimpy attire on Great Northern's "PETERBOROUGH NORTH" thread.

Having met Chris's 2 offspring, I would say take them to the show. They would make ideal crowd controllers for the sub-populations, they seem to be able to recognise bull%%%% and general annoying behaviour when it is present BTW, they are a very charming pair.

Over the last couple of weeks I've started taking my dog Fudge up to BMR with me and as part of getting him used to the sights, sounds and smells of the railway I take him on a ride or 2 each time. The pics below are from today, he was very calm riding in the coach but not too sure about the smoke from the steam loco that was hauling us. (This one is now my background wallpaper on my laptop)

The majority of service personnel passing through P/B back then would have been RAF personnel, from the large number of bases we still had in Lincs and also due to RAF Cranwell being just up the road (so to speak).
