  1. Ally Pally was successful, managed to get a few items off my stock requirement list. Mind you 1 of them was a Q1 (god almighty that truely is an ugly loco)

    1. Judge Dread

      Judge Dread

A face that only a mother could love!

  2. Starting to look like a hand-grenade has had the pin pulled and tossed into a series of threads, wonder how long before the mods have to step in????

    1. Mod6

      Mod6

We can't read everything, use the report button if necessary.

    2. Mallard60022

      Mallard60022

      Good tip....thanks.

  3. Well, I have returned from a loss of mojo enforced exile, looks like a have a lot of threads to catch-up on reading of

  4. Feeling infused with the Nelson spirit, since my Victory build is continuing after being stalled for 2 years.

  5. Yes, but it was brand new from 1999, and is still in it's wrapper
  6. Damian, I can't help noticing that the coaling point for young Mr Spams' collection of SR's finest motive power seems to be missing, was this an oversight perchance???
  7. Now that we have finally had a decent day, Fudge has been able to wear his light-weight Hi-Vis vest.
  8. As the trackside vegetation at Bentley Miniature Railway is getting to the height where Fudge could blend in and be difficult to see, it has been decided that he needs PPE. Today saw him showing off the first jacket that SWMBO has doctored for him.
  9. Pies and scones, where do I sign up to be a guest operator??
  10. Well chuffed with myself, "Lady Helen" EMU came out of the workshop today after a major overhaul and upgrade. C&W manager accepted it as suitable for revenue service after a single ex-works run with zero snags. Pat on back for me yiipee.

  11. Gilbert, I personally wouldn't install lighting as I feel that the gloom adds to the realism and atmosphere you and others have strived to create. I can picture a black and white film of the great expresses coasting through the station with oodles of steam gathering in the canopy. Kev
  12. In light of Jenny Emily's recent unpleasant experiences and with my professional experience (I am a trading Locksmith) I would like to advise anyone planning on using a shed for their layout and workshop get them fitted with a good quality solid wood door complete with similar quality wood frame/surround and for securing the door use a 5 lever mortice lock as well as a serious padbar http://www.locksonline.co.uk/acatalog/copy_of_Chubb_7009_Padbar.html and shackle lock http://www.locksonline.co.uk/acatalog/Squire_ASWL1_ASWL2.html . I have no connection with the company who's website these links take you to, I just use them as an example of the type I recommend using. Also if you have any concerns contact your nearest locksmith for a survey, most of us happily provide this service free of charge.
  13. Well the excitement bubble was well and truely burst today, Vet told us our youngest dog was having a phantom pregnancy and that the chemical castration of the other one hadn't worn off yet (he's still shooting blanks)

  14. It would appear that fashionably late is not confined to Humans, Daisy should have had her puppies by now and yet we are still waiting.

    1. Horsetan

Maybe the pups think Gordon Brown's five economic tests haven't been satisfied?

Just getting impatient, as I really want to see what the little Bitza's look like.

    3. Sidecar Racer
  15. "Speedy Gonzales (you'd better come home)" (with apologies to Pat Boone)
  16. It would appear (following a call from the Ops Co-ord) that part of this weekend will be spent on R&D to finalise the design and dimensions to the older coaching stock bogie upgrades, looks like my memory of geometry is going to get tested.

  17. These little beauties ran for the first time on BCB today and they behaved themselves beautifully, I have it on a rather shaky video (I'm no threat to the world of videographers) which I'll upload when I work out how to get it on here without opening a you-tube account
  18. I saw them live and in the flesh today, and the look the proverbial dog's danglies. Flavio has done a bang-up job
  19. Not long back from Ally Pally, and is one very happy chappy as I was allowed to operate Black Country Blues for a few hours. Thanks very much guys

  20. ^^^ That's a shame, was looking forward to having a chinwag with you again
  21. Spent day servicing 31271 including replacing all the axle boxes, taking it for an ex-works run in the morning

  22. Gilbert, These latest pics just highlight the sheer size and scale of your layout, and it's truely breath-taking. (All together now in best Wayne's World fashion) "We're not worthy, we're not worthy, etc etc"
  23. Gale warnings for the South East, I'm making chilli for dinner

    1. NGT6 1315

  25. As produced by NAAFI cheapest and nastiest Dhobi Dust, IIRC 50p per huge box from the NAAFI in Raleigh in 1985 (think I preferred the gas-mask test chamber over that stuff)
