  1. Back home in North Wales after another fantastic show. The fourth time I have exhibited in Stafford and probably my favourite show of the year. To many familiar faces to mention but did anyone notice the 'celebrity' visitor? I had a selfie with him in front of my layout, if your into cars you may recognise him. It was Workshop Phil from the TV programme Car SOS.
  2. I model modern image and live nowhere near the South West but have a soft spot for the Hymeks. Probably the most stylish diesel ever?
  3. Van is loaded, except for the stock and chilling out with a beer and curry before a 05.45 departure from North Wales.
  4. We are exhibiting at Stafford this weekend, stand D29. If your visiting please say hello.
  5. Yes been to Tim's a few times, only live 20 mins from him.
  6. 08 looks great but not sure I want to tackle my eleven 08's!
  7. I knew Tim was taking Newhaven, see you there.
  8. I came across this photo on flickr taken in 1991 which fits in nicely with my layout era so I had a go at modelling it. Wickham type 27A Mk IV Trolley DX 68010 at Darlington Park Lane CCE Depot. 1991. by Adrian Nicholls, on Flickr

  10. I will have to bring a layout one year.
  11. See you at Stafford next weekend.
  12. After I put a plea for help on a Facebook forum and twitter asking if anyone who does 3D printing could look at doing me some lamp irons for a Wickham trolley which are quite a unique shape. Someone who follows me messaged me asking if I had any dimensions, using a lamp iron from a BR brake van as a guide two days later these dropped through my letterbox. Painted and now fitted they look great. Cropped photo of the catual lamp irons attached also.
  13. Hi John, Although my layout is DCC I have a seperate 12v transformer under the boards to power the yard lamps (with the supplied resistors) and the LED's that light the layout.
  14. Hi Rob, Intentio, he had his stand right opposite from me at the MIOG show we both exhibited at in March. https://www.intentio.shop/Lasercut?page=7
  15. Thanks John, that's exactly what I do, stick a blob of white tack in the lamp slot so it doesn't 'wiggle' around on the lamp iron. I use a pair of tweezers to fit and remove lamps.
  16. Hi Julian, Lamps from here and they will slip on & off the lamp iron as they have a slot underneath. https://www.modelu3d.co.uk/product-category/detailing-components/loco-rolling-stock-lamps/tail-lamps/
  17. Looking forward to exhibiting at Stafford again for the fourth time I think with different layouts each time. Anyway which other RMweb members are exhibiting?
  18. It's all about the details. 08702, battery lamp, shunters pole on the buffers and instanter coupling on the hook.
  19. The local PW gang check out the quality of workmanship on the recent point renewal.
