4'6" springs with J hangers, gwr opens, mex, resin minks and chassis for the above.

  2. 2mm stand at Ally Pally. Must remember about the clocks and get there at the right time! Come and say "hi"

Should have had the word 'tomorrow' in there somewhere.

  3. A first for me: going to an exhibition by train today.

If it's not for you, should you be worried? ;-)

  6. After spending a huge chunk of today waiting in the fracture clinic the dislocated thumb is ruled out in favour of a scaphoid fracture that they haven't found yet.

I've got to become cack handed until at least mid-December. Not easy.

  7. All stop:fresh out of axle cups/top hats.

  8. An enjoyable day out at the AGM and the bits for my mill arrived while I was out. xD

Thanks you. Mick already has part one of the article for the cattle vans, which covers the bodies. Hopefully it will appear soon.

      So, who won what?

  9. Another productive morning lettering some more wagons. Clearing the work bench might reveal a shortage of space in stock boxes.

  10. back from a good but tiring day talking 2mm at TINGS to find lasagne already in the oven and wine in the fridge. Now sozzled.

Sounds like a perfect day drawing to a slightly fuzzy end. Excellent!

  11. Been shopping: A pair of calipers for my lathe, two Dapol Halls that were on sale in the local model shop and a Ratio signal box interior.

  12. Been to the Olympics this morning. Just catching up on the cycling action from this afternoon.

  13. Bogie brakes all assembled awaiting fixing with a touch of solder. Time to distract myself to a different ongoing project ;-)

So that's where all the 2mm coach bogie brake etches have gone! ;o)

      richbrummitt

No Pete, and not guilty, Andy. I wanted to pick up a few more at the AGM but the peg was empty. My shopping basket was rather small actually: 40 buffers, 30 axles of wagon wheels, 3 packs of top hat bearings, A mink C kit, and a GNR cattle wagon etch. I think the brakes actually came with the coach kits over a year ago, perhaps two.

  14. Can use CAD left handed. I might still be productive whilst mending!

    1. N15class

      N15class

but will you be able to assemble a left hand kit?

    2. richbrummitt

      richbrummitt

I'm trusting that normal operation will be resumed by the time the etches are drawn, ordered and delivered. I've got a few things on the go (as per usual).

  15. Cannot find a piercing saw blade. Just where did they get packed?

  16. Cl150/1 appeared in the post yesterday. Just waiting on a 150/2 to complete this collection. I think I'm at the bottom of the slippery slope :-/

  17. Clean install of Windows 2000 running AutoCAD of the same vintage. Much better than any of the AutoCAD clones and free 2D that I've tried.

  18. Didn't realise that going digital would involve translating so much German

I can when I've built them. I bought two :-) I see the nanny didn't like the acronym used by the developers of the S4 society product.

  21. feeding crank pin washers to the carpet monster

I've only got about half a dozen bits in there. I want them, and I've done this exercise before, but always wimped out.

  23. Finally got the milling machine in pieces so that I can install replacement parts because no-one seems to want to touch these things. Now I have to obtain the spare parts, which after talking to the impostors should only be 2-3 weeks. Sigh.

Realised I typed I imposters rather than importers (or the iPad miscorrected my inept prodding) in the original status.

    3. Phil Copleston

      Phil Copleston

I hadn't noticed, read it as 'importers' anyway! Sounds like you have some sorting out to do on both your lathe and mill. Actual model making some way off then :(

    4. richbrummitt

      richbrummitt

Yes and no. I'm also rebuilding a 10 year old computer to do a clean install of a dos based OS so that I can run legacy AutoCAD rather than buy an up to date licence at

  24. Finished some wagons \o/

    3. richbrummitt

      richbrummitt

Okay Pete I will but not right now. Phil, those in the mag were finished a good while back.

  25. fitted 30 coupling links (5 wagons) and only fed one to the carpet monster. That's a pretty high success rate!

    1. devondynosoar118

      devondynosoar118

Well done! My rate is usually the reverse...

    2. richbrummitt

      richbrummitt

My success rate is not usually that good. Possibly about a half. I use reverse action tweezers now, and have had quite a bit of practice!
