  1. Might be worth stating this is N gauge, great work in that scale. New Farish whistler looking good.
  2. Loving the east lothian scenes, such a lovely piece of work and what seems like a huge range of stock
  3. Goods shed looks spot on to me, a nice little diorama.
  4. Cant comment on the accuracy of the model but it certainly looks the part and very well made considering. Your pkatform surfaces look superb by the way as well as your trackwork. Unless you've finescaled the GP chassis I'm assuming thats finetrax? Looks great whatever it is,
  5. Is there a jealous button to hit here. What a lovely bright comfortable working space.
  6. Great use of faded colours on tne pipe wagon, very used looking but exactly the right colours to my eye.
  7. Yeah great realistic feel to those pictures. Yeah great realistic feel to those pictures.
  8. Heres 60011 breaking cover, blue backed plates as per the prototype unfortunately due to a big blob of glue left behind from the previous plates I have had to mount the plates slightly too far right of where they should have been. Its something I can live with. Modelu lamps fitted which Ive said before but are superb at this scale, crewed and redone the coal load with real coal dust.
  9. Thanks guys, much appreciated. Got 60011 complete with blue plates on the way, plus 60052 as well. To be honest I should stop dicking about with stock and get on with the layout which is still nothing more than bare baeboards. After experimenting with finetrax I've decided thats the way forward but going to use code 55 behind the scenes in the fiddleyard. Hopefully some progress on the layout soon.
  10. The red looks faded and nicely so, was that something you intended with the washes or how did it come about?
  11. 70018 flying dutchman complete with red backed nameplates Also fited with western region smoke deflectors by peedie models which is a njce enhancement
  12. Some pictures of some recently completed projects, all weathering done by Alba Weathering who provide an excellent service. 60535 Hornets Beauty, just detailed, crewed and recoaled.
  13. Another few locos having passed through the stafford stables for weathering. Renunbering and detailing done by myself. 60535 70018 70011
  14. Thanks guys for the feedback, it was done this way as I did use a plasticard base to put the load on so the loads could be removed if needed. I'm going to see some prototype pictures but if not now that I know how to best stick these tarpaulins down and that they wont harm the underlying wagon then it'd be easy enough to put another tarpaulin over but draped down the sides of the wagon.
  15. Bought some of these recently in n gauge, good product and good service. A happy customer. Here they are in N gauge
  16. Done some work on some farish 3 plank wagons, added what i think are some nice tarpaulins. Bought from this guy here, http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/121993-wagonsheetscouk/ Made loads on plasticard bases exactly same size as the wagon, used a lego brick or two for the big load and some ballast for the smaller load. Once glued in place i wrapped the loads in cling film, and then draped the tarpaulins over the cling film and secured in place with PVA water mix. I think they look really good.
  17. Going today with the old fella. Always worth a visit.
  18. I use the modelu figures for n gauge footplate crews and think they are superb, but they really are incredible at the bigger scales. Yours have bee painted very realistically and look excellent.
  19. Lovely grotty colours on the brit, very convincing.
  20. What a difference the backscenee make, they really do change everything.
  21. Layout looks superb as always, its hard to believe its n gauge the vast majority of the time. Good luck with the show
  22. Thanks to all for your helpful replies, I've got a good idea how to progress. Now I just need to suss out soldering at such a small scale having never done it before, but I'm keen to try some other etches particuarly buffer stops so I'll really need to get up to speed. Thanks again guys, genuinely appreciated.
  23. So should I use a brass sleeper either side of the gap, seems like that might increase the prospect of a short. All uses of the brass sleeper I've seen online show it being used like this but to me it would seem more sensible to cut a brass sleeper in half and and easitrac/finetrax sleeper for the other half thus making it bit more safe, although I'm guessing once gapped and glued the chance of a short are next to nothing. Do you fill the gap with something as well, filler or something.
