  1. No, sorry, my schoolboy error as my wife pointedly pointed out! It's the NHS app the one with your prescriptions, test results, Covid "passport". Incidentally there's a delay apparently in getting booster jab info to both GP and NHS app. Taken 5 days to get to GP but nothing yet on the app. Incidentally (2) no card or other proof of having jab at time we had it, also no bit of paper saying what we had just had. At the pool met the Pfizer lady who wrote the thing and mentioned this, was a bit surprised. Stu
  2. Most people have a rough idea of when they can have their booster but if you've got the NHS app on your phone you should get a txt to say you're eligible and if your surgery's on the ball a txt from them as well. Edited as it's the NHS app not the Covid one. Stu
  3. Suspect (or possibly hope!) it's a case of bad reporting as as others have pointed out doesn't seem to tally with other data. Flu jab 2 weeks ago at a weekend walk-through jab-and-go session at surgery. However talking to friends and neighbours seems to depend on your surgery as many have had no notification and some have sorted themselves out and gone to Boots and Asda Last Wednesday wife and I both got 2 txts, one from surgery, other from NHS saying go get booster , which we did last Thursday, exactly 6 months 1 day after 2nd dose, Pfizer this time No problem getting slot and spoke to volunteer we know at the mass vac centre who said numbers noticeably lower than first/second rounds Took about 1/2 hour including 15 mins sitting around. Stu
  4. Yes, operated with these set up for the A/S role though they did carry a radar pod under the portwing. http://www.hyperscale.com/2021/reviews/kits/sw72135sereviewgc_1.htm Stu
  5. Sword's Avenger TBM-3S2 of the JMSDF. A bit ironic considering the Avenger's part in Japan's defeat but an interesting subject. A dedicated anti-sub version they were some of the first planes supplied when Japan started to rebuild her forces. A short run kit with all the usual foibles but quite straightforward, just needs a deal of fettling to ensure everythings fits where it should. Stu
  6. The number of times I've heard that where one in a household gets it and other(s) don't for some reason, it happened in our family. Something at work here we haven't yet figured out ? Our daily positive figures seem very high compared to other similar countries but I haven't yet found any comparison of the amount of testing countries do. Has anyone seen any ? Stu
  7. I've written enough on here about my connection with the Tram not to repeat it all here. Reading negative comments about it's removal on here and elsewhere all I can say is that probably never had to live with it at any point. Stu
  8. Ha, just come down to East Kent then but make sure you fuel up before you leave :-) Stu
  9. When my daughter's other half came off shift from Ramsgate depot she greeted him with "where's our share ?" Apparently they're all pretty sanguine about it many having gone through this before with Connex. Stu
  10. Won't be much to see above the waterline apart from a possible change of branding and maybe livery but TBH that would be a waste of time, effort and money. Be interesting to see if any intended stock changes go ahead. Staff I know were happy with the way it was run last time by OofLR after Connex got booted out. At the top it may well get serious with the Serious Fraud Office involved but if that's the case nothing will happen soon. Stu
  11. Belatedly realised I could answer my own question by having a trawl through brdatabase. Found about 10 so far from early 60's, either Southern shedded locos or south Wales. Thanks to all Stu
  12. Hi, In '56 Dad was most probably still firing, I remember "improvement classes" being mentioned and I must have been a few years older. My mistake with Mr Wallis's name. I don't have any recollection of ever meeting the gent but our paths might have crossed on the Alexander Bridge in the mid 60's if he was still active. I'll have a look at the other photos to see if the writing matches. I can still remember the name of one of those involved in that but discretion etc........ Posted a question in the the appropriate section to see if anyone can confirm if they were shopped at Eastleigh. It'll potter around on Drewry for the moment, rather more appropriate than some of the stuff I run on it. Thanks, it's been good to add another "I've done that" to the list. As for livery what limited memory I do have of 14xx's they were black so it was a simple choice. GWR livery looks fine as does lined black but always though BR lined green was a touch too flambouyant for something essentially modest. Hope you are all ok and hopefully meet up again at some point. Cheers Stu
  13. Hi, Can any Pannier experts confirm thgat BR Panniers were overhauled at Eastleigh. My late father told me that 7780 + 82 were shopped there and I'm sure I've seen a picture of one in the shops there. Grateful for any info. Stu
  14. Had a run back home from Hants to Kent with a zig off the M25 and a zag back on to the M20 to get to south London for a family visit. Queues large and small at every station we passed from there to here, anyhow at least those that were open. Passed 5 that were shut with only 2 of them BP, others Shell and Esso. Some really dire panic manouveres from those trying to get in leading to all sorts of chaos. Stu
  15. Mindreader Gerry :-) I've got this on my wall. Copy of the A K Walls photo that features in the Abbotsbury Branch book. Not good quality but has pencilled date/location n the back. No idea where it came from but Dad did have a handful of B+W photo's where there might have been some significance. Actually it's 7754, quite why is a mystery as it seems to been a Wellington loco. However I do have both 7780 + 82. I have a couple of spare bodies and have been working on a Comet chassis plus a High level one which looks a bit intimidating but I'd like to do it EM. Just need a 16 ton mineral now. Perhaps a Rumney chassis might have been a better place to start on etched bits.... Dad had a high opinion of 7780 and 82. Apparently they were both overhauled at Eastliegh and were something of a revelation when they arrived compared to those done at Swindon. Cheers Stu
  16. Hi, A belated update, partly due to a protracted family medical crisis, not covid and thankfully now making a good recovery and partly because the motor gearbox combo I had for the 14xx was simply too big. So I ended up odering a High Level gearbox and motor. The gearbox is excellent and the motor tiny and should have checked the size carefully before ordering. But it's all gone together well in spite of my hamfisted chassis building skills. With a decent amount of lead in the body running is fine and it seems happy enough with either an autotrailer or a few wagons. Got a small Zimo chip installed and although the speed curve (and wiring!) could do with tweaking runs well across the range. Progress so far in all it's, in more ways than one, shabby glory. Still got coal, lamps, crew, etc,etc to do though I have managed to sort installing some NEM pockets. Thanks for looking. Stu
  17. Having a read around the question the evidence is that having a different vaccine for 3rd jab does a better job of keeping antibody levels up than having 3 of the same type. The guinea pigs appear to have already been jabbed..... Numbers here sinking back down now schools back and visitor numbers right down. Have a 12yo granddaughter whose parents are now considering the vaccination question. I don'y envy them as in the same position I've no idea what I'd do. Stu
  18. Fair point, there's some info re countries vaccinating children in the link. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2021/aug/04/which-countries-are-vaccinating-minors-against-covid When you look there's a deal of variation around the world on vaccinating under 18's. So we're not comparing like with like when looking at the figures in Neils link so like covid death rates it's not a straightforward comparison. Stu
  19. Figures there seem at odds with https://coronavirus.data.gov.uk/details/vaccinations Stu
  20. Appreciate that Martin, must make time! I'm not a professional track builder, heck I'm not even an amateur so must give credit to Templot and various threads associated with it on here for helping get as far as I have.. I'll try and squeeze a bacon roll out of the deal as well next time we get together at a show, inflation etc....... :-) Stu
  21. Sorry been busy with family stuff so only just caught up. David's answered this pretty comprehensively which is good as I've never tried re-wheeling one. It might be worth doing a "re-wheel 14XX" search as there seems to be quite a variety of stuff out there. Hatton's 14XX was a bit of a misfire and given it's history unlikely ever getting a re-run. I'm really surprised no-one else has jumped in with another attempt but it'll happen one day. A bit baffled by the smokebox door comment. My 14XXis stalled as the motor/gearbox I had planned to use is a tad too big and as High Level Kits are now back have ordered something more suitable. Have been kept busy though. A friend saw the pic of my completed 3 way that I put on a different platform. He got in contact and asked if I would do him one plus a B6 point to go with it for a planned micro layout. Was happy to help on the basis that it would not come with a 7 year 100,000 mile fix at the roadside in 30 minute warranty and the only thing to change hands would be a few pints. Having done one meant a couple of potential pitfalls avoided so it was comparatively straightforward. Now with their new owner. It's worth checking to see if Martin is doing any web sessions on using Templot. I'ver not managed to catch any - my fault - but they'd probably be very useful in getting to know the programme. Not sure if it's the Templot thread or website where they're mentioned but worth looking. Cheers Stu
  22. Watched 1 + 2 and probably thought much the same as every other Discworld fan. The characterisations seemed to be almost the exact opposite of what I imagined. Quite enjoyed it though and as there isn't that much fantasy for "grown-ups" on terrestrial tv will stick with it Stu
  23. It's not really noticeable in practice. It helps if you put plastic chairs on the rails after that are simply cosmetic. Ballasting then makes it even less noticeable. There's some pics of my track here https://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/93421-sheepcroft-em/&tab=comments#comment-1692441 I'm sure those more experienced than me will add more comments Stu
  24. 121's and without checking and the date of the last green may not be recorded would guess 68/69. Blue 121's (SYP, White cab roof) were in use early 67, maybe late 66 Hth Stu
  25. Hi, Have a look here then PM me if you think I can help Stu
