  1. I'll chuck in my last tuppence.... Western. A bit further along the gestation with the tank we can't speak about. A new lightweight 4-4-0, which I spoke about last week or so. Southern A G6? Strangely, I'm still thinking about the LBSCR K. Something Scottish from our friends north of the wall. Fireless Barclay 0-6-0. Usual wagons, vans & re-done coaches. And, a bit left field, I'd guess a NG16 Garrett, Welsh Highland railway. Coming up fast from the distance, North Staffordshire Railway No2. There, that's it..... Ian.
  2. Thanks Rob, I'm way out of date. I haven't been to Margate for a couple of years. Ian.
  3. Yes Chris. I put them in the swear jar. I don't swear myself, but last year the office had a month's vacation in the Bahamas. I don't know how they do it..... Grr%&**@#!!
  4. I have an idea that the handing of coach rake was instigated due to the loading gauge. By & large, the loco will be turned, not the rake. Ian.
  5. Not a bad call. Depending where the materials are coming from, Manston is just down the road, and a serious amount of airfreight cargo goes that way. Places like Ramsgate are gearing up these days, so someone is on the ball. Ian.
  6. Those wheelbarrows are the wrong shade of green.... Ian.
  7. Are these bacon rolls weathered or unweathered?
  8. Travelling from Westminster to Aldgate twice a day, 6 days a week for 2 years, I think I'm owed a rake of S stock myself.... Ian.
  9. With the deepest respect, not everyone joins Bachmann Collectors Club. It is up to Bachmann to engage the buying public, not a niche or clique whom are required to 'spread the word'. I'm not knocking those who are, far from it, but I'd take a dim view if someone thought their pound notes are somehow better than mine, for example. Hmmm. Ian.
  10. I think, seeing as we're fast approaching the 'Hitler' moment, we should perhaps ignore the poor old Baccy 94xx. we're all a pretty pragmatic lot, so it'll arrive when it arrives. The final arbiters will be its desirability and quality. After all, it's still our wallets that count. I bumped into Kevin the teaboy at the local Aldi. I mentioned I hadn't seem him lately. "Not likely! It's that bl**dy Western lot, putting the frighteners on me!" Happy modelling. Doktor Octavius Shrinkk.
  11. You need to forgive him Andy. He's spent too long in the sun at Penarth Road. What he needs is a warm Clarkes pie, and to rest his weary head on a mattress of Pink 'Uns* * Pink 'uns- South Wales Football Echo. Ian.
  12. Never mind Johnster; you're in good company here. Ian.
  13. 1957 lets in the last Rhymney locomotives at Radyr, plus the last 4 Taff Vale class A, from Abercynon shed. Sorry, but I couldn't resist... Ian.
  14. I'd suggest you research your demographic before using the keyboard... It might cover a quarter of the country, but not a quarter of the wallet.... Well, my wallet anyway.... Happy modelling, Ian.
  15. Oh come along! That can't be true! Even Harry Potter travelled via Kings Cross! On the Western side of things, we've been very good boys & girls. It's not every day we see a new set of coaches we've been waiting for 20+ years.... Cheers, Ian.
  16. Oooh, goody! kitbashing time! I wonder if Hornby can release 'just' the coach bodies? They can make some very passable pre-group coaches. Preferably, in a plain grey, non-tampo'd, solid colour. On the basis of both this & last years releases, would it be presumptive to think that Hornby are making some product in house? After all, I'd question the economics of shipping tools 15,000 miles to make a 60 year old toolset.... Cheers, Ian.
  17. Sorry folks, but just to clarify;- Are these the old 'shorty' clerestories? Many thanks, Ian.
  18. Some scrappies would take the lot. I do like the track layout; very reminiscent of LNWR practice. Some places remained as shunters cabins. Nothing left inside except a fire, and a kettle.... Oh, and the weekly notices. Ian.
  19. I was thinking of changing the lettering alone, IE, all third. A slight problem being that the stock I seem to remember was not bow ended....
  20. I've just noticed that the tank top oiling reservoir is either missing, or not included, depending on year, build, or era. Would anyone please set me straight? We had them on the (real) 56xx) Cheers, Ian.
  21. You've got that washery building just about right; very convincing. Andrew Barclay locomotives sometimes had a horizontal whistle protruding out of the front cabsheet, just to keep the loco height down. Happy modelling, Ian.
  22. That sort of information will produce a run on the all-third, as bods like me rush to get the missing one. I'll need to get in quick!
  23. I quite like the demolished station building approach. Is the footbridge protecting a right of way? Otherwise, it would quite likely be taken down. Very atmospheric. Ian.
  24. Hello Jason. It's a minefield for a lot of others as well. Sometimes standing back might well prove to be a correct, although nominally illogical approach. Whatever the next make is, we can be sure that it'll be leaps & bounds better than our old Airfix ancestor. I think we just need to sit back and await events. Anyway, your wallet should be the final arbiter in this case. Cheers, Ian.
