  1. Seems like other liveries are in stock. Had a phone call re. my pre-order this afternoon. Hopefully will have an un-numbered, lined, late crest one next week.😀
  2. Haven't seen this mentioned here, but an email from Rails of Sheffield dropped with this information; https://railsofsheffield.com/products/Heljan-9102-50ft-inspection-saloon-br-lined-maroon-black-ends
  3. My first exhibition would have been one of the Merseyside Club in the Bluecoat Chambers in Liverpool in the early 60s. I've completely forgotten what layouts were on display; it was a very long time ago.
  4. Looks very nice indeed. The only problem with the plain black one, especially with the late BR crest is that it would almost certainly have had the top smokebox lamp iron moved to the three o'clock position and the one on the lower footplate moved to be in line. How easy would it be to move the lamp irons? Was there any news on when the remaining models are coming into stock? Regards Frank
  5. I use this one and can heartily recommend it. https://uk.farnell.com/ersa/0ic1100a0c/sold-station-i-con1c-with-interface/dp/1625360
  6. It was a scouse thing, too. We always called them Mickeys. The house I grew up in overlooked the Langston Dock branch, a rather obscure Midland outpost in Liverpool and one of the namers was seen quite regularly on there, so I presumed it was shedded at Aintree then.
  7. Think Slaters do a pack of brake levers, two long, two short. That might do the trick.
  8. A bit like 'A Bad at Black Rock', a mysterious stranger rides into town. It's not going to be good news for one of the inhabitants...
  9. All three vehicles are to pre-nationalisation designs, LMS, SR and LNER. The LMS BG looks to have maroon ends, so it's probably been repainted c. 1965.
  10. True, and it's an easy enough fix. The other thing Dapol could do would be to slightly modify their BR Vanwide chassis, which would give them the standard LMS clasp brake chassis, which could go under a whole range of wagons.
  11. All the pictures of the Dapol van I have seen suggests that it lacks the diagonal strapping that was a very common (but not universal) addition by BR. I had to add it to this Freightman kit
  12. Are those vans from JLTRT or Freightman?
  13. Definitely Greater Manchester. Coverage of Stockport, Stalybridge, Bury, Oldham, Rochdale, Wigan, Warrington, St Helens and even one of Liverpool Lime Street, which is really stretching the word 'around'.
  14. Quirky captions, but with quite a few errors.
  15. Fair point. Only a football kit obsessive like me would notice! Regards Frank
