just cleanerd up my found rail chair with a wire drill bit attachment. The chair was made for the LNER in 1927 and now has a coat of red oxide primer on it.
so you now have a fully functional doorstop, just in time for summer. Good work. (hint: a check chair may have two jaws but is awful at holding french doors open)
