In a piece in the Guardian today about the extension of the NRM's Shildon site, it mentioned major celebrations being planned for the bicentennial of "Locomotion No. 1" in 2025.
Any ideas for possible models (apart from the obvious) ?

These started appearing tonight and are a nighmare, stopping any use of the boards.
It makes a mockery of the boards being open to non-Gold members.
PLEASE ACTION

DEPENDING on prototype difference and mould considerations, I would have thought that the Maunsell N-class would be suitable as the Irish Great Southern Railways Classes 372 and 393 were variations - that would seem to be a "win-win" situation for SECR/Southern railway AND Irish railway fans.
I would prefer a LBSC K-class 2-6-0, but there were many more N-class, and the Irish connection MIGHT sway Accurascale/Murphy models.

AS I UNDERSTAND IT (?) - Lynden Davies (?) joined Hornby and brought Oxford with him. He has now left and things are changing again, but Hornby aren't really telling us what.
I expect a proper announcement soonish.

I have ordered my 4-carriage LSWR sets from Kernow, but I really would like a BR southern region version.

Strange comment. Dapol (with the D and D1's) and (rumoured) Rapido with the E1 seem to be doing well with Southern subjects. According to the Wishlist Poll, Southern locos are still popular.
Somewhere, somehow, Hornby seem to have lost heat, or been misled.
Hope they produce a few money-spinners (whether Southern, or not).

A request. Have Accurascale produced, or announced a plain green (i.e. no yellow panel) early Class 37 (preferrably with split headcodes) ?
I have looked, but can't find any.
Thanks.

To summarise the options for 31487 in 'Sunshine' livery : the only D1s recorded with British Railways numbers AND tenders lettered in 'Sunshine' style were :-
February 1948 : s1735 with 'British Railways' on the tender
April 1948 : 31470 with 'British Railways' on the tender
May 1948 : 31246 with 'British Railways' on the tender
June 1948 : 31487 with 'Southern' on the tender
July 1948 : 31743 with 'British Railways' on the tender
September 1948 : 31489 with 'Southern' on the tender
All can be represented by changing loco or tender insignia ( both for 31489 ) .............. but, of course, other loco details may need changing too.
.
Well, that's "good".
When they do a re-run of the early BR sunshine version they can do any of, 31470, 31246, or 31743.

That sunshine lettering "British Railways" 31487 one looks lovely.
Does anyone know the dates for it ?

The way the funnel is level (?) with the roof of the loco - I have always wondered how the smoke cleared the body and sides ?
Any reports from the trials ?

I don't suppose Hattons would be interested in re-releasing some of the older liveries at some point in the future?
.
Yes - especially those that weren't supplied despite a long standing order !

No, definitely an L1, and then an E1.

Why does (nearly) everyone ignore the most numerous British Railways wagon - the humble 16 ton stell mineral wagon ?
We could certainly do with numerous triple packs of these to modern standards.

Any update on the R-T-R GNoSR V/F Class 4-4-0 / SE&CR G Class 4-4-0 wheels issue ?
Maybe an estimated date for delivery ?

Hopefully, due to some advice provided all the liveries have had some amendments...

They look lovely.
What dates are appropriate for the SECR Grey livery ? (1921 seems to be the earliest possible ?)

So, if true, it would seem that Hornby have gone right off the Southern Region, both in 00 and TT gauges.

When was the last new model of a King Class released ?
And, of course, no one has released a R-T-R GREAT BEAR !

Will Accurascale be doing suitable "coal loads" for these ?
