Jabs are the way for flea treatment. The cat already hates the vet anyway! Sure they aren't happy you took them down there, but how were you to know the nasty white coat bastard was going to be so mean? Here's some Dreamies...bestie. C6T.
  2. Finished A Plague Tale: Requiem at the weekend, good game. Probably seen the last of Amicia and Hugo from Asobo given the ending... but then they did that film trope of a scene after the credits. Which might be just a knowing 'wink' thing! Later on I decided to have a look at Outriders, available to me as part of PS+ Extra. A Squenix published 3vE third-person cover loot shooter, it's obvious from the codex's (codecies?!) that a lot of effort has gone into world building in it. Unfortunately for reasons I have yet to fathom the gunplay feels disconnected from the this player. As a 2020 release I really did think this might play better than it does but honestly any of the latter Mass Effect titles feel better to play. Indeed, The Last Descendant is a joy, even without its own cover mechanic. The underlying story too doesn't depart vastly from what has gone before. We've shagged Earth so seek a new planet to inhabit, but uh-oh, there's this weird 'anomaly'...yadda yadda. Although in this instance the planet was doing alright with regular occurrence of the anomaly...until Earth bods turn up...ghnn! I'll give it some more time, it's not an awful game. But it's occupation of my attention is very much limited until a game that grabs me comes along! C6T.

Yuh, I see the necessity but unfortunately mog doesn't, and it'll do nothing for her confidence not to mention leading to an inherent distrust of leather jackets. There are alternatives to the owner applied spot-on treatment however and I just wish the jab was around when I had Roxanne. Poor little girl hated the spot-on and I hated having to give it to her. C6T.
  4. With no GT7 races I'm interested in entering atm and Lords of the Fallen not being quite the game I'd hoped I have been continuing A Plague Tale: Requiem. A bit grim at times but away from the titular plagues, it is a very pretty game.
  5. Quite. Dad showed me his Rupert the Bear annuals a few years ago and I had to shake my head at the introduction of a set of characters named the Little C**ns. And we're not talking masked garbage pilfering quadrupeds. I still wince every time The Dambusters (un-edited) airs too, even if it is historically accurate. C6T.
  6. Shame, quite looking forward to this one. Still, might pick it up on sale after bug fixing: https://www.eurogamer.net/lords-of-the-fallen-2023-review C6T.

I don't know what I dislike more, the fact someone smeared something on some pictures that a cat liked the smell of for social meeja likes and to make themselves look clever...or they think cats, and I can be easily fooled. Oxygen thief. C6T.
  8. No you're quite right and I'm scolding myself for not using the correct terminology. I'm guessing the 1Tb onboard the new model PS5 is expandable storage and they've done away with the expansion slot. To cater for the OS etc. have placed a 200Gb flashdrive on the motherboard? No doubt Digital Foundry have their screwdrivers at the ready to rip one apart. C6T.
  9. The refreshed model PS5 has broken cover...I must admit it does have some aesthetic design flourishes I like the look of. My own (second PS5, if you've been paying attention) needn't fear replacement though. Partly because I have yet to ascertain how internal installed memory works on the new model. To recap, release model comes with 825Gb installed memory with an additional expansion bay to take one SSD. The new model will have 1Tb onboard but the comments on Eurogamer suggest it might not have a separate expansion bay, instead it's a proprietary solution, more than likely swappable with a larger SSD as the user sees fit. If that's true then the release version of PS5 will always have an 800Gb advantage of installed memory - purely by the fact it can't be removed? C6T. Although the new model surely has to have a modicum of hardwired memory in it to carry the OS doesn't it, even if it's just an appropriately sized flash card on the motherboard? The PS5 OS takes up around 200Gb iirc. You don't make a piece of hardware where user replacement of memory removes the vital code!?

  11. I found out I can bypass Sky/Now (never getting my money) and buy The Last of Us (an HBO series not available in the UK directly) via Rakuten TV installed on my smart telly. Paramount+ and Apple TV are available in the UK but I wonder if (new) Frasier might similarly be available to purchase via another service? Having said that, the edits Channel 4 have done to original Frasier to make it daytime TV friendly means I should really just buy the box-sets. C6T.
  12. Yep, an ambulance chasing shyster has suggested to Guy he's due big bucks. Hope he's on no win no fee! C6T.
  13. Microtransactions. There's all sorts of in-game materials needed for crafting etc. Any of which might be sold for irl cash. C6T.
  14. The First Descendant is now in the games available to wishlist part of the PSStore. It looks like they're going down the F2P road, which I half expected. Will see how much of the game is behind paywalls, if it's mtx-ed to hell I can ditch it for no outlay. Although even if I spent £60 irl money on it I still might think it vfm. C6T.
  15. I have also taken an interest in this game, for better or worse: https://store.playstation.com/en-gb/product/EP0096-PPSA08194_00-1498387693768159 On the face of it, it appears to be one to add to the 'badass redhead' collection. It must be good, right?! C6T.
  16. Less than a fortnight to go before Lords of the Fallen drops now, I remembered I had Mortal Shell (Enhanced Edition) in the library. Probably the closest title I've got to a Soulsbourne game and not dissimilar in fact to LotF in its body swap mechanism...but, oh dear. This much I get: At the start of a game your character will be underpowered. A sodding geet sword requires strength and skill to wield effectively. But FFS it's like fighting in latency treacle! Admittedly I've been here before. When I started Ghost of Tsushima I tried to do too much too soon and subsequently got my ass handed to me on a regular basis. But this sodding game, you can't go twenty paces without encountering something that wants to kill you. I dunno if I'm supposed to generally avoid combat for now, or I'm just crap at it. Thing is...I would really like to get into this game, not just because a similar one I like the look of is around the corner but because it does genuinely look like a good game. It scores around 7-8/10 in reviews. I'll give it some more time, but jeez...I won't stay with a game that is stupid hard work. C6T.
  17. Looks like KOTOR I bought for the MacBook might be the only way I'll actually get to experience it, in any time soon anyway: https://www.eurogamer.net/knights-of-the-old-republic-remake-is-slowly-getting-expunged-from-the-internet C6T.
  18. Indeed, poor intended English. Bad show. As read, it means the tiny figurine weighs more than the manufacturer intended it to. Order cancelled! C6T.
  19. As an enthusiast of Cl56 & Cl60, any General Motors traction to me could be classified as "Co-Co bogied dog poop" Union Jack or no. Class 69? Well that's just taking the piss. C6T.
  20. Another Sapphire & Steel viewer here... much later, when I'd broadened my cinematic horizons, I saw him in British sleeper masterpiece The Hell Drivers as Stanley Baker's younger brother. Unsure if anyone in that cast was megastar famous at the time but the vast majority would go on to be household names. C6T.
  21. I've been playing the above over the weekend, a satisfying loot-shooter that looks impressive at full pelt. The premise of the game is nothing new, shoot, maim and kill waves of baddies (that only turn up when you want them to...who's in command of these cannon fodder twits!?) and reap the rewards of their death. It's playable solo, if you're daft, but is geared up for 4vE. Cross platform at least in the Beta. Gameplay-wise it can become akin to a bullet-hell sh'mup. There's no cover mechanic, but you can take advantage of the terrain and battlefield furniture to avoid incoming fire. Gunplay is satisfying, plus each Descendant comes with an equally mind boggling stat adjustable arsenal of 'powers'. You may be asking, why am I enthusing about this one in the Lounge when there's plenty of other games of a similar ilk already out there? Firstly (ahem) third person perspective. I know many play 1st person shooters but I just can't get on with them. I also really liked opening lead-in story and the art style the studio has come up with. Here's some screenshots: Look familiar? Hmm, I certainly thought so! The game constantly gave me (in no particular order) Deus Ex, Mass Effect: Andromeda, Horizon Forbidden West and Anthem (in a good way!) vibes. There's no flying in it (like Anthem, mores the pity) but there is a grappling hook...like Titanfall? So it's a game that has 'borrowed' a lot from other games I like, a lot. Will I buy the released version? There's the rub. In development by a studio/publisher with a track record of gatcha games, this one stinks of mtx. However, I think being PvE rather than PvP erodes any threats of pay to win. I dunno how they'll market it. The story suggests it could float as a paid game, but free to play with in game purchases doesn't sound like it could be off the table either. Add in season and/or battle passes...who knows? I've enjoyed my time with it even if I never touch it again. C6T.

Probably more to do with our feline friends seeing us fussing them as mutual grooming. "Why should I bother cleaning myself when the ooman will do it for me?" But I'm a pessimist and it could be that Mia is actually genuinely grateful for being fed, and fussed! Although not a lapcat, she is actually one of the sweetest mogs I've ever known. C6T.
  23. It's been mentioned in one of the gamer websites columns that the rediculous alteration to the T&C's, general outrage and subsequent drawing back might possibly be all part of the plan to introduce distasteful policy changes that on their own wouldn't have been palatable but will be broadly acceptable given the adverse reaction to the opening gambit. (The revelation that Unity's board members were flogging stock prior to their announcement literally proves they knew the announcement would tank the value of the company.) It's something Twitch and Reddit have been accused of too, and not unknown outside the video game sphere either. If you want a pay rise, start off asking three times as much as you're willing to accept. Need to get some marmite policy through Parliament, wrap some feel good stuff around it to make it easier to swallow. It's a lesson learnt from sub-prime stock dealing. C6T.

Mia will often come and see me after having chowed down on fodder I've provided, in my mind a begrudging thank you. But she will have a bit of a fuss or rarely join me on the armchair... before sodding off to kip on a bed. C6T.
