  1. You're sh!!tting me, right? If the past experience of involvement of UK citizens in questionable foreign military policy decisions has been anything to go by, what is retuned is physically and/or mentally broken people and body bags. The "desensitising" effect means nothing if the actions of the operation are revealed to those responsible at a later date and they're incapable of dealing with it. Besides which, if you just want robots to bomb weddings, just get AI to do it. I think it's rather telling that our 'foes' use morally ambiguous means to recruit troops, I'll be damned if this country uses that as a basis to follow suit. C6T.
  2. Having binned off Spotify I was looking through the vinyl collection for some Tom Petty (with or without the Heartbreakers) and was disappointed to find the library went directly from Paul Young to Peter Gabriel... You'd think I'd know my own system and then probably checked under 'T' wouldn't you? It's only clicked 24hrs later, doh! Not long for the home now...C6T.

Obviously a fascinating read...I end up in much the same state when folks start extolling the alleged superiority of Swindon. (Joking!) C6T.
  4. Still happening my friend... still happening: https://kotaku.com/fortnite-epic-british-army-elzthewitch-yungfilly1-1851184946 Which given the demographic of youngsters that play Fortnite, seems to make it's use as a recruitment tool even more disturbing than the US military's involvement with Call of Duty. C6T.
  5. Another cultural icon of a generation passes: https://kotaku.com/carl-weathers-death-age-the-mandalorian-rocky-creed-1851221537 Not a huge fan of the Rocky films but enjoyed his work on Predator, and was getting his second wind being involved both sides of the camera in The Mandalorian. C6T.
  6. Quite. I'm not sure if I set-up two factor authentication or it's by default, but requires a code sent by text to confirm user approved payment. Another hoop scammers will find difficult to navigate. Also, I've made a habit of only using a credit card with minimal value for online shopping and subscriptions. The current account is kept well away from any such use. C6T.

I often call Mia 'tiger-cat' (though much if not all of her stripeyness has disappeared), Jette (all black) was 'panther-cat'. Your fella there has some real puma vibes going on! C6T.

The way Mia goes do-lally over my footwear and socks, I'd suggest the stankiest fromage wouldn't put her off. Whether it's any good for her I couldn't say. Mia is odd though, she gives the impression of 'begging' for morsels of whatever I'm eating but will not actually be interested once offered. I think it's more she's interested in what's happening rather than any request for fodder. Roxanne otoh was a plate polisher. Gravy, meat and even vegetables were gobbled up. But then she was I believe the runt of her litter and probably took the chance of a feed at any opportunity. Never got fat though. C6T.
  10. Bad news wrt a third Adam Jensen Deus-Ex installment: https://kotaku.com/embracer-group-deus-ex-cancelled-eidos-montreal-layoffs-1851205890 What's especially galling is that the article suggests preliminary work had actually been started on the game, after years of barely anything apparently happening, before Squenix sold the studio and IP quite recently. C6T
  11. I met the fulfillment of defeating a Level 25 end Boss (my character build didn't qualify but I got matched with a player that did) so have managed to max out the complete trophy set for Outriders: So I guess I don't have much of a reason to play anymore of this, at best, "not bad" game? But wait! What about helping out the noobs! Well friends, I think the playtime clock reads about 230hrs, dunno how much of that was on pause screens and waiting for matches, but I only actually paid a little over £13 for the Worldslayer expansion (base game was subscription included) thus I've arguably got vfm. C6T.
  12. In the UK (and possibly in the wider European market) Chris, I suspect Datsun were victims of something of a marketing hatchet job. Infamously, Japan uses grit on their roads during winter but doesn't mix in salt, so consequently Japanese manufacturers didn't seem it appropriate to treat the cars with corrosion protection. You can see the inevitably of that. So I believe, late 70s/early 80s the Datsun brand was dropped like a hot potato and the range became Nissan. Japan motors were still getting slagged off in the UK in the mid Eighties, Spitting Image did one of it's worst edgelord sketch misses, just as Nissan were about to take advantage of Maggie's tax breaks to set up a plant in Sunderland. C6T.
  13. That's a good looking car right there. If they'd done an awd version, Audi A4 beater? Can anyone confirm or otherwise, was the Rover 600 essentially a rebadged Accord? C6T.
  14. Slung the PS4 disc of The Last of Us Pt2 in the PS5 this morning and availed myself of TLoU Pt2 Remastered ten quid upgrade. Dunno when I'll get around to playing it, I'm not a huge fan of the current crop of work being done on not very old games. Although with industry wide lay-offs aplenty perhaps it's a good thing to keep at least some developers busy on projects. Additionally, I think one has to be in the right frame of mind to play any of TLoU games, emotional rollercoaster that they are. Btw, if you are a PlayStation user and haven't yet, do sign up for the 'Stars' loyalty scheme. It has little attraction on paper but in the couple of years I've been doing it I have garnered around £20 or so in wallet funds for not any behavioural effort on my part. C6T.
  15. Honda did an Accord estate as well of course, did your red badged Accord have the same power train as the hatchbacks Jim or did the bigger car have a heftier lump in it? C6T.
  16. Never a big fan of the Civic or Integra btw, but I always thought the Accord was a good looking motor. Can't speak for how they are to drive of course, all front wheel drive, but the Accord ticked a lot of boxes for me aesthetically. C6T.
  17. There's a carpark just over the road from the chippy mentioned in my previous post, which occasionally turns up the odd gem. This Jordan branded Honda Civic (EK?) was worth a snap a couple of years or so ago, shame it wasn't parked front out. C6T. Just noticed, both the Japanese classics are V reg.!
  18. Meant to post this at the time but didn't get around to it. Japanese motor i can't pin down, outside one of my local chippies. I think the parents of a friend I had as a youngster had a metallic light blue estate. C6T.
  19. Remember magnetic tape as a recording medium? It ain't dead yet! C6T.
  20. Not my image and apologies for not being able to credit it, but it does show what was for me a staple of a spotting visit to 'Town' in my yoof. The blue van in the seaside bay! Vanwide is it, storage for the paraffin tail-lamps? Was it still resident in '85 Andi? C6T.
  21. Something not right about the lighting on the rear wheel either. C6T.
  22. I've got a mixed bag of Cavalex PGAs, because I model circa 1996-9 too (as well as 1980 & 1959...I have my reasons, I shan't bore you!) so perhaps doubtful if any work for an 85 layout? Yuh, well Andi, we've never been formally introduced by anyone that knew us both I guess. I'm quite introvert at exhibitions and such, there for my own enjoyment. I say hi to the SRC bods I know, but I'm not a "please be my friend" type. I've engaged with you far more on RMWeb, probably because I now know via this forum you share my enthusiasm for, not only railways but cats & turntables! Anyway, this is in danger of sounding like a bourgeoning bromance to other readers so I dunno, if you fancy a pint down the Gladstone or summat, pm me?
  23. Also (sorry!) I was wondering if Ipswich would be sadly bereft of Cl.56 action being set before the "happy time" of freightliner operation. But then remembered that the BOC tanks and maybe the Redland's might have come through at times? Oh yes! C6T.
  24. Indeed. I'd known the Wright Bros. since platform ending at Stow as nippers. Paul later roped me in for Llanbluei when I started going to the Railway Club. Keith later on joined me as part of the Class 56 Group, which I believe still gives his last layout Arnold Lane the occasional outing. Wrt Ipswich, it occurred to me that because my blue/grey modelling period is strictly circa May 1980, none of my locos are high intensity headlight fitted (or have had them lopped off!). This may or may not preclude them from an '85 set layout? Nevertheless, if there's any rolling stock I can help out with then the offer stands. C6T.
