No doubt these whistles make you feel much better but I suspect that there are noise limiters or just not enough power in the headsets at the other end to bother the person concerned.
Even just responding truthfully to them asking how you are seems to stump them, if perhaps you're feeling lousy, they can't seem to go off script at all.
