  2. ...has a theory  that the universe will one day come down to two black holes which will collide in a final big bang. Question is will the layout get finished first?

  3. has been a complete anorak this evening. I cooked myself a full roast chicken dinner with all the trimmings and binge watched "The Richard J. Willis Collection" on prime. Nice!

  4. has been spotted again, this time making off with a gallon of salty caramel peanut ice cream and a rather large spoon.

  5. has today learned that the expensive sat cam equipment I've been triggering located two miles up the hill, is there to capture images of wolves not Sasquatch afterall.

Thanks for the advise Andy. Love the new set up BTW.

  9. That's blown it. Mrs. S. has discovered there's a mini fridge in the garage!

I did tell her about the super glue to which she replied I didn't know IPA was a glue and proceeded to help herself.

For a number of years, I worked in a university, as an instrumentation technician.

A major part of this job was fitting, wiring and setting up strain gauges. (I enjoyed the wiring bit ...) It was accepted practice to keep superglue in a fridge - as the bond strength was a critical aspect of gauging.

As for "IPA", I was led to believe this was short for "Iso Propyl Alcohol" - which definitely wasn't kept in the fridge - and I doubt if anybody would have been stupid enough to want to drink the stuff.

Of course, I could be talking about the wrong sort of IPA ... .

  10. Why the hell are there ads for hideous women's ankle boots on my threads! Mrs. S is getting a grass gun for Christmas, she wouldn't be seen dead in those ugly monstrosities!

The ad server is getting loopy again.  "Mining Intelligence", gym equipment and "tinfoil hat" wallets are what I'm getting at present...

I am getting ads for "fancy dress" outfits. Mainly girly stockings and suspenders... I wouldn't mind but they don't stock my size....

  11. Thanks for adding me as a friend mate.

I`m wondering what the time differance is.

  12.  Have you seen this site Felix. Lots of cool 0 scale stuff.

      Hi Shaun,

Really funny you should mention Petite Properties....just finished building this today !  (a future delivery for the Pub)

Thanks for the heads up,  I've a number of their excellent starter kits,  perfect for scratch-bashing structures & details.

They have a selection of 1/76 kits as well that might be of use ?

      Cheers,

      Felix

P.S.  Coming down in buckets here on the coast :)   Soaking wet all weekend =  time for trains !

Hi Felix. That is a great model idea. Just love that!

I spotted their church kit on a small layout watching Youtube this morning. It's already top of my Christmas wish list🤭

Raining hard here too, so I've been getting into loco building. An ex-Midland 2-4-0 from a Ratio kit, with tons of extra detailing.

There's nothing like a bit of modeling to calm yourself. It's not been a good week.

  13. Anything between 4" and 100" of snow forecast for our region over the next week depending on elevation.

Prepare for traffic problems they said. (Interstate 5 was a bumper-to-bumper nightmare in this afternoon's deluge) So looks like we're just gonna have to "Hunker down" for Christmas.

    1. Hroth

      Hroth

Just the usual cold thin Christmas drizzle predicted for here. Keep warm, keep safe and have a good'un!

    2. peach james

      peach james

It's the same sort of predictions for here...some to much snow, depending on elevation.  It rained a lot this AM (~0500), and there were chunks in the rain at 125m/400' ASL

    3. Sasquatch

We had 4-5 inches last week and it was chucking it down during the night. There's plenty of snow above 3000' and I read somewhere Lassen National Park is expecting over 8 feet. We need some snow pack, bring it on I say!

  14. Before indulging anymore in my wife's homemade rum truffles I'd better hit the sack before I explode!

    1. Hroth

      Hroth

Surely the quantity of rum in a quantity of homemade rum truffles should induce drowsiness?

      Eventually?

      After agumentativeness and singing?

  15. Botulism? Where the hell, did we get botulism from.

    1. The Stationmaster

      The Stationmaster

Depends very much on where and what you have been eating - hope that it isn't affecting you badly.  Don't forget that it is a notifiable disease in the UK

    2. Sasquatch

      Sasquatch

Mrs. S. thinks it might have been some home canned plums. She definitely has it worse. I felt fine yesterday, better than Tuesday's 100.9 fever. If it is Botulism we might make it onto the world incident map. Lets just hope that's not my "10 minutes of fame".🙄

  16. Einstein's big bang theory is in question now that we know that time doesn't exist and it's just in our heads.

So is there any rush with getting the layout finished or not....

  17. Having had a couple of real Belgian ales my head is full of questions.

Like why are there still people driving about with huge Trump flags on their jeeps???

Why do I have all the symptoms of long Covid but haven't actually had it???

...and why do we have 2 gay cats.

    1. Mallard60022

      Mallard60022

Trump Flags on Jeeps = losers and or target Practice objects.

Symptoms of Long C and you probably have had it or another Virus and not actually realised; how do I know this?

Gay cats are the real thing now. Purrfect companions as always loving and kind. Just let them have

PInk Leather Collars and don't tell them about Dusty Hill RIP.

      Take care.

Or, we could not bother extending stereotypes which are ridiculous when applied to humans to other species as well. Everyone, whether human, feline, canine, bovine, or something else entirely, deserves better than that.

  18. Having looked at eBay this evening I estimate that there must be over 10,000 quids worth of empty boxes in my attic!

    1. Hroth

      Hroth

But they've got to be the right empty box!

      ( "L@@K! RARE!!!" for example...)

It's not the rarity of the box that fetches the high bids, but the rarity of the air within.
