Hi everyone
Started my Power Pro Cab up today to do some test running and couldn't get it functioning correctly. It started by displaying the loco select screen, and then got stuck showing NCE PROCAB V1.3, CAB ADDRESS = 02. I couldn't get it to respond at all to any pressing of buttons. I placed a loco on the track and it tried to run off at a reasonably fast speed. Pressing any buttons on the handset didn't change the display or stop the loco running.
Anyone come across this issue and suggest any fixes please?
Thanks Dixie

I'd be interested in knowing if there was any commonality (and so increasing the chances of it getting done). 93 is Bo-Bo and 99 is Co-Co so I would assume not.
Lots of similarities, but as you say too many minor and major differences. I'd be up for a couple though

I see a co-co dual mode loco has now been announced by Beacon Rail for GBRf Class 99!

I still think it's a great shame that when Airfix and Mainline entered the RTR market in the 70s they did not go for HO, but as you say it's too late now !
I have to agree entirely. That was just the right time to have changed. It really is so absurd that we stick with OO. But, sadly, it's all history, and I too can't see it changing anytime soon.

Bizarrely, I see that Rivarossi are now making a prototypically correct model of this but, of course, in HO (why, oh why didn't we go to HO gauge in the UK back in the 80s?): https://uk.rivarossi.com/products/rivarossi-h0-187-br-4-axle-tarpaulin-wagon-railfreight-metal-livery-period-iv-hr6495

The wagons that I have are both Freightliner bought new from Harburn Hobbies about 12 years ago. The price ticket on B724 D states £19.53 and the price ticket on B724 F states £19.95.
So, the offer isn't that bad really, especially considering what they would be worth if they start breaking up. Thanks Dungrange, much appreciated

I've been in touch with Hattons Pre-Owned and they've offered me £53 part ex against some other models for 3 x pristine boxes of GBRf B740A. I must admit I've no idea what I paid for them when new. Anyone on here know what it might have been?

Were Dapol responsible for making those sold by Hattons?
It would appear not, they are visibly different in detail

Is it only Fastline units that have been reported so far?

I guess in the case of the FEA-B, the solution is to get as much value from it whilst it's still okay.
The name of a popular lunch time TV show on BBC 1?

My scientist friend suggests spraying WD40 Dry PTFE spray in the holes in the underside. He suggests this will minimise any further incursions of moisture. I think it's worth a punt. You can get it from places like Screwfix for just over a fiver.
-
So, it's back to my suggestion that the holes are filled with something that will seal them. It's now a matter of deciding what is the best substance to use for those of us who want to attempt to preserve our currently OK stock.

The key word is "accelerated".
Moisture is inevitable in the UK.
Can you be sure that sealing the holes makes them completely moisture proof?
And if you seal them now, how can you be sure that there space around the cast weight is 100% dry?
It cannot be stopped, only slowed down.
I think it's worth a punt. I'm just having a conversation with a scientist friend about this and will decide for sure when that is concluded. The other option might be car body/wood filler.

If it is mazak rot (and nobody is sure yet), then there's not a lot you can do....
I have read a report that says: "Moisture is essential to the occurrence of [Mazak] corrosion, which is also accelerated by higher temperatures." My garage (where I store my rolling stock) is quite dry and cool.

I've got 3 boxes of GBRf ones. They've never been out of the boxes, and the plastic inserts are still sellotaped together. I've checked them and they are all OK at the moment. They are kept in the original boxes inside a clip top type plastic storage box with some other rolling stock.
Anyone any thoughts on the wisdom of putting some sort of glue or sealant in the holes underneath to stop moisture getting in (if it is moisture that is causing it), and if so, what? I'm not too worried about voiding the warranty as they must be at least 10 years old.

Not too sure how they can provide an update when the real thing hasn't even been seen yet........
I suppose I just wanted them to know there's someone out here who's still interested.

Any updates Revolution are always appreciated. Still looking forward to getting a couple of these
