  1. I dare someone to send the enclosed map to either the Daily Express or the Daily Mail...... After Callum comes Michael. https://www.nhc.noaa.gov/storm_graphics/AT14/refresh/AL142018_5day_cone_no_line_and_wind+png/173930.png Best, Pete.
  2. I like the New Jersey Central Lines! One of the few US companies to have double ended diesels like the UK - though it didn't last long. Glad to see this layout still active, one of my favourites. Best, Pete.
  3. I know you meant Jeff and ELO not Jeff and the Law Enforcement Officers. I recently acquired the 2CD set Greatest/ELO - it's easy to forget just how great some of their songs were. Yonks ago I went to an extremely dodgy pub in Dagenham to see ELO and when I arrived found that they had split into two with Roy Wood and Wizzard. Luckily Don Arden had "persuaded" promoters to have ELO one week and Wizzard the next. Both good - Roy Wood performed on stage with Wizzard wearing Roller Skates...... Those were the days alright. Enjoy! Pete.
  4. Quite right, it depends on water current temperatures. Where you are you get a cold current from the north whereas in the north atlantic the gulf stream still rules - which is why the British Isles do not have such harsh winters as places in Canada on the same latitude. Best, Pete.
  5. Afternoon all. Just a quick hello. Anyone who wants the real intel on "Michael" look here: https://www.nhc.noaa.gov/refresh/graphics_at4+shtml/152003.shtml?gm_track#contents Amazingly the (then) former Hurricane will be a storm reaching the western approaches by next Monday. If you look at the various pages closely you'll see it will decline in strength fast once over land but will then increase again back over the gulf stream but as an Extra Tropical Storm. In haste, Pete.
  6. Ha! 67 and counting. ! saw J. Page on the telly yesterday. He looks ancient and his teeth are not the ones he started with. I still have hair, it's riddled with grey but not its dominant colour. Thanks, Andrew. Pete.
  7. One day at a time, Andrew, one day at a time. You.ll soon be through it. How's the Rickenbacker, Mal? It occured to me that you may need some kind of Compressor to aid in getting the best of it - at first, at least. Jim McGuin (sic) or Roger (whatever he is calling himself nowadays) always uses one Best, Pete.
  8. Could it be as simple as wiring some of the batteries components in series vs parallel? Or am I being a dozy git? What the hell is "Haitch", sorry, he means Aitch..... Best, Pete.
  9. Thanks, Phil! So glad you are still playing your role of "Mr. Obvious" so well. You know I love you baby! Best, Pete.
  10. Nothing new there then.............. I'm glad that you are not a Doctor by profession. Best Pete.
  11. Are you sure he wasn't robbing the place? Did he take your cash, for instance? Best, Pete.
  12. Before I put my size 12s in anything - has anyone passed away recently? I just took a look at the MRJ thread. Now, that's something that has not changed..... Best, Pete.
  13. Guess who just got back in town?????????????????????????? Lemme catch up over the next few days...... Best, Pete.
  14. Most of you are not really interested in modern combat aviation but take a gander at this state of the art simulation. A few notes, each airplane has a different human pilot from several different countries operating in real time. The controls of each ‘plane are identical to the real ‘plane being modeled - no short cuts to make things easier. Just fast forward thru the Briefing to the actual Mission and sit back to enjoy this particular artform, it’s the P4 of modern simulations: Best, Pete.
  15. Irma was a rather large lady who had been dumped in France by an SS Panzer Division and then never left; regularly performed naked in Fairgrounds and was always at Le Mans at least up to the mid-eighties. Her party trick was to throw two items of her ample anatomy over her shoulders.... One of those things once seen never forgotten but mostly harmless. The only untrue part was the SS thing, she was way too young (yet strangely ageless). Was there just over the Dunlop bridge opposite the Thompson Machine Gun (I kid you not) range. Best, Pete.
  16. Drivers of the Pink Pig had the same artwork on their suits and helmet (or one did). Yes, everyone in media expected Alonso to drive the final - Nakajima (in particular) had a splendid drive in the race. We worked out that the average speed for the Toyota from Mulsanne corner to Indianapolis was 150 mph...... After losing a race on the final lap Toyota had to win it outright. I forgot to ask is IRMA still alive?????? Best, Pete.
  17. Am I the first? Surely not... Fred Alonso and the rest of the team won Le Mans 2018. Good driving. #7 were in the lead when I dozed off but #8 won. Happy Father’s Day! Best, Pete.
  18. I was appalled to read about the latest disaster! I just hope that it can even be rebuilt. Such a shame... Beautiful place. Pete.
  19. She’s back! GDB has moved into whole house renovations in the USA: I’m looking for one of these: G’night all........ Best, Pete.
  20. Of course the stupid BBC did not appear to acknowledge the death of Danny Kirwan at 68, late of Fleetwood Mac - it was headline news over the North American TV. RIP Danny. They did however mention that Vince effing Vaughn was arrested for drunk driving..... Best, Pete.
  21. Rick will give a sigh of relief upon reading this news item from Brisbane: Apparently this is real..... Best, Pete.
  22. Hot news from Minnesota (we don’t get much apart from “Brit has Apoplexy” etc.): [Hot News from attachment=1014604:FB_IMG_1514954352367.jpg] Best, Pete.
  23. My clock is 3 minutes slow......... Best, Pete.
  24. When you are having a really rough day: Best, Pete.
  25. Be careful, you may be offered CEO of Southern (whatever Ian L’s service is called today) !!!!
