  1. my Northern Rail one arrived today, well done Hattons for getting it out so fast. Its clear that the new 150 is an improvement over the old one, but the plastic white interior moulding really lets the model down, they could have painted the black screw as seen in my picture of the motor car!. Realtrack really have shown what can be done with a lit interior. side by side with my r3sprays repaint of my 150/1 and Realtrack 144, its time for it to be sound chipped and the interior painted to make it the definitive model.
  2. DRS stuff commands some scary prices on ebay...... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bachmann-OO-GAUGE-CLASS-37-NO-37409-IN-DRS-LIVERY-SOUND-FITTED-SPECIAL-EDITION-/121272435078?pt=UK_Trains_Railway_Models&hash=item1c3c668186 and it's not even the seller that professes RTR repaints as "kit built".......
  3. I didn't even get that far tonight! I managed to get the bodyshell off, just! Door handrail and one of the white suspension beam came off too! I eventually gave up trying to pry off the seating casting from the underframe. Put it all back together and will get Charlie's "workshop" as mentioned in the instructions to do it for me! Any more and some lasting damage or a severe tantrum would have occured!
  4. My Current Account is some £110 odds lighter today after a transaction from DC Kits/DE Video........... can't be long now!
  5. Caroline was up here in Scotland today on a run up to Oban, hauled by DRS 37419 Saw it twice on its return to south to Motherwell TMD- at Arrochar and Tarbet where I got some snaps and then chased it down the road to Bowling Harbour. Nice friendly driver who gave me a toot and a friendly wave as he thundered past me at Bowling Harbour- thank you sir! Been following this topic for a while, have my Britannia Pacific saloon, and while liking it very much, the Marc one is more detailed and now pondering when I will "upgrade"..
  6. I had always planned to stick with my Hornby HM2000 controller when I made my beginnings in DC many years ago. I feel the review for the HM2000 is very general and feel it deserved a bit of a better opinion. It does everything you need in a good sized layout and despite the sheer amount of plastic it feels "solid". It's always got my Bachmann flywheel traction to run silky smooth and even a very decent crawl out of the Lima Pancakes when I ran on DC. I've went DCC, but despite this my HM2000 controller is still a useful servant, it provides plenty of power to my Points via a bank of switches and the Layout Lighting is powered and controlled by the two track outputs so different parts of the layout can have powerful bright lights- like the depot area and dim lights - like in the cottages!
  7. Looks awesome! A nice howes class 150/5/6 chip in it and you have a mean machine!
  8. I have the Howes 57 decoder. Very satisfying to run, even uses the class 47 horn!
  9. To simplify, they were two extraordinarily annoying auditionees for the X Factor and got through because they were a novelty act and had enough charisma and presence to conceal the fact they were not gifted or even half decent singers. Each year X Factor has a novelty act or two that manages to make it to the live shows for fun/controversy issues and they were one of them. Their controvertial nature was that they were not gifted singers and concealed this with distracting big high production fun performances and remained in the competition despite other much more serious talented competitors who actually could sing and sing well were voted off by the public and judging panel. And now they're doing as much work as possible to make as much money as possible until they hopefully become old news that no-one cares about. I know....I watch far too much tv...... Oh and their hair style just angers me so much..... grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
  10. Only very recently discovered Railworks. Was haranged by two colleagues at work to get it and by chance another colleague was selling his souped up laptop which is powerful enough to run it well! The Railworks Facebook has been putting up some really nice screenshots of the forthcoming version- half tempted to take the day off from the real trains to try it as soon as it downloads
  11. Finally got home after work to open up my Bachy MPV- amazing model :D

  12. David Gray really took this song and made it his own. One of the very few cover songs I think that improved on the original. All I can think of just now is songs that should never have been covered
  13. My silver bullets arrivied from a well known Merseyside shop today, I knew when I saw them at Glasgow they were gonna be good, it never fails to impress me the shine on them! Unfortunately I found the NEM socket was allowing Kadee couplers to droop slightly a'la Bachmann TTA and the trip pin was catching on my points-v frustrating. The same Bachmann fix of a wee bit slither of paper into the bottom of the socket and the coupler sitted a bit more higher and the trip wire on the coupler bent up ever so slightly however the the coupler still sits a touch too low. I just wish I was quicker and got the Kernow ones, however I do like weathering so Ill give them the treatment.
  14. A few days, Brilliant. I missed out on the weathered versions, but Im preparing with cans of Humbrol Matt Varnish, Matt Earth and the white "snow" from the Tamiya packs! Having seem them at Glasgow on the Dapol stand and the amount of people drooling over them and on Nigel Burkins OMWB I think we are in for an expensive but fun month!
  15. I recieved an email from Hattons today, they are planning to increase the preorder price on the bullets from £22 to £24 from monday. In other words they think they are gonna sell like hot cakes!
