Great to see you up and running again. Will watch with interest. And of course should you go the Scottish route even better!

    Cheers

Cheers David, So far I have indulged in a 20, 25 and 26 in Blue, and may go for the Headlamp 26 as well. I do like them.

Sergio Perez confirmed to remain at Red Bull Racing

The six-time race winner has agreed to a 2-year contract extension at the Milton Keynes outfit, which will see him stay until at least 2026

So where does that leave Sainz?

His options are reducing, although I could never seriously see him returning to RB.

    I had similar thoughts 🤣.

But do we actually know when Andy made the video, for all we know he’s built it, run trains, done the scenics and sold it.

Haha, I'll show a date stamp on the photos next time, so you guys don't need to worry. BUT looking forward to actually getting some Trains running.

I have a big week with the Band, 6 new songs to learn, Rehearsals Mon and Wed, and then a Gig on Friday, so probably no more work on the Layout this week.

    Cheers again. A.

Yo Andy mate, are you slowing down, normally you would have trains running, altered the track plan (twice), added a platform for the bubble car and sold it by now?

Looking forward to the first change to the original idea.

Easy Tiger, there has been just one point moved to a different location, but that was to save me buying an extra Point, you know how mean I am.

Still no signs of weakening for smelly passengers yet though.😄

And NO, not SOLD yet either.

  6. So its time for an Up Date, and some pics and a description for those that don't want to watch the 2 minute Video.

All the Points are in, and wired to droppers and work, but I haven't decided what sort of switching / Panel to do yet.

Next job will be the feed droppers and then I can run some Locos on the Videos.

The Concrete sleeper track represents the Main Line and leads to 2 dummy Fiddle Yards that could be used at Exhibitions, if the Layout was sold to someone that way inclined. The third line to the left will go to my Home Fiddle Yard.

And now for the short Video.

  7.  I know I bleat (Sorry Sheep person, @NHY 581 ) on about this, but don't forget a FIRE EXTINGUISHER. I was up in a Loft many years ago, working away quite happily when there was a funny smell. I turned around, and the florescent light above the escape hatch was on fire. THERE IS ONLY ONE WAY OUT. Luckily for me I pulled the plug, DROPPED through the hatch and the fire fizzled out, but it could have been a lot worse.

Pushing ahead with the Back Scene I went back to Google Street View for more insights on the weather in late autumn, the colours, clouds, etc.

One thing which became very clear was that the Western slopes of the Blackdown Hills get plenty of "weather". Barely a shot posted around all the local roads and lanes without the hills shrouded in mist or worse, medium to dark clouds and fields in a dull olive green.

So to complete my setting I decided the mixed clouds over Hembury Fort (Trraverser end) would mark the rear end of a passing rain system, still visible over Upper Hembury itself (looking to the North East).

My first efforts are shown here, with suitable cutout props to represent the future buildings and at @john dew 's suggestion, a hint of a bridge in the background.

Any recent work to show Andy?

No, fraid not, I have done some bits of my own, but nothing significant, and not photographed since the move down here as I cant do it in the POD due to all the Guitars etc, so have to wait for a nice day and set up outside.

I do have some stuff to do, so will make an effort to take some pics / video and add to here.

    Cheers for asking,

    Andy.

Have you ever considered a Geep or two, this layout looks very suited to the other side of the Atlantic too.

Deffo don't do any passenger facilities on this one, it would look well out of place I think.

AND, Most strange you should mention the other side of the Atlantic. The 80's Stock I bought came from a mate who is now doing just that, so cutting back on his British stuff. I have had an American Layout many moons ago, back in the days long before the likes of Bachmann etc, and all we had was Hornby and Lima. I bought a couple of American Locos and was amazed.

    NEVER SAY NEVER, Haha.

    Defo no smellies.

    David

Hi Dave, Thanks very much. I have been off the boil for some time now, but really feel like I want to get started, and now have a worthwhile project to get my teeth into.

Just watched the video, and then found the picture with some track down. That's looking really smart, it's going to be another fun build! Glad to see you underway..

Cheers Scott, Done a little more this morning, and I have a shopping list for tomorrow, (mainly wire) and then I should have enough stuff to start in earnest.  Keep watching, things will progress I'm sure. 👍

I say there Mr Peters what a spiffing plan for a model railway. Have you considered it being shunted by a Jinty with 4Fs and Ivatt 2-6-0s arriving with the goods trains.

One thing I notice there is no platform for the bubble car to discharge its passengers. I am sure you can fit it in.

Re Steam, never say never in my book Old Boy, and I like your Loco choice, NICE.

Re the Platform, NO, NO and TRICE NO, No smelly anorak wielding body carrying vehicles on here. (mind you, I did say that about Tonleigh Bridge in the opening chapters. Hahah.

Nice to see you back this layout has  a good look and will be interesting to follow.  Chris

Hi Chris, and Thanks, I know its not at all prototypical, but should give lots of operational interest long term. Well that's the plan, anyway. Cheers.

    Hi Andy

Good to see you're back and off and running! Ballast by next weekend?😀

Two weeks, I have a busy time over the next week and half.  Hahaha. I needed a kick up the arse, and the POD rebuild seems to have helped so far. Need a proper catch up too.

Thanks Andy, and I must find your new one again now that I can use the site properly once more, (computer glitches at my end.

I knew the restricted space couldn’t keep a good man down for long.

All the best with new project.

    Terry

Thanks Terry, but not sure about the "GOOD MAN" bit. Hope to see you around some time this year mate.
