  1. Thanks for the link, I had thought of bonding the stock and switch rails and powering the frog with a micro switch as I have with my other electrofrog points but because of the way the 'Y' point is built and works I'm unsure how to modify it.
  2. One of the contact tags on the switch rails is not making contact with the corresponding stock rail causing my Class 08 to stop, I have tried gently bending the tag up slightly but there is still no contact. Is there a way to fix this by possibly leaving the point in place? I should say that the point is on my DCC layout and was fitted straight from the box with no mods apart from IRJs on the frog rails, the other route over the point works fine. Any ideas/advice is much appreciated. Thanks in advance

  5. Thank you very much for taking the time and trouble to post this for me, I think that's what I needed, a step by step guide to using Gimp.
  6. Thanks, whereabouts is the resolution setting in Gimp, if I know roughly what size to resize to how would I know which way to set the resolution?
  7. Hello Harold, I think i have being doing it wrong, i am trying to resize some images to print off and make into 00 gauge signs so quite small. I thought all i had to do was to select 'scale image' and reduce the height and width to what i thought was correct then click 'save as' then go to the printer and print it of but the image is still way too big and quite blurred but i am grateful for any pointers. Cheers
  8. Thanks for that, I will have a look to see if that helps.
  9. I am obviously going wrong somewhere but cant figure out where, I am able to scale down images and save resized images ok but when i come to print them off the print preview is showing them as blurred and too large and that is how they print. Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong please. Thanks in advance
  10. Hi, No it was a diesel maintenance depot but I'm sure it was a substation, it is clearly fenced off with what looks like some sort of electrical equipment inside. I have found a photo of it but I cant find out whose photo it is to ask for permission to post it here.
  11. Well I'm saying BR but I am not sure, it looks like a small type of substation which was located in the car park at West Blyth depot in Northumberland, sadly I have no photos of it and searching online hasn't brought up anything.
  12. Hello all, Does anyone know of any 'High Voltage' type warning signs for 00 gauge use that would have been used in the 1970s. I am building a small sub station and need the appropriate warning signage. I have had a look online but not come up with anything other than modern warning signs. Thanks in advance
