  2. Actually I rather like it! John.
  3. Up for grabs a part roll of 70grms/m2 natural matt tracing paper, it was a 50mtr roll but I would guess there is at least 30-35mtrs remaining. Free to good home but would need collecting from SP10 (North West Hampshire). Also a part roll of lining paper, no idea how much but loads left! Collection only as above. John.
  4. Don't think the motor is an X04, looks more like a K's job. Welcome to the 1970's! John.
  5. One of these Slaters loco's was my first O gauge loco kit and was very sucessful even with a 40:1 single stage gearbox! I do wish I'd not let it go. If you want to get rid of your abandoned project.......????? Regards John. ps in my opinion it is best not to build the chassis exactly as the instructions suggest and move the cylinders out a touch!
  6. Re "how to power it", a good while ago I built two of the 7mm scale baby Rustons. One was a small motor & gearbox on each axle, while the other was a larger motor on one axle with Delrin chain to the second axle, as I recall both worked well. Highlevel gearboxes are your friend! On the S4 society website I'm sure there's a section with loads of information on small coreless motors hung on axles with belt drive to gear them down. If that works in 4mm/S4 then it should be a doddle in 7mm scale! Good luck John.
  7. Hi all, it turns out that it is R8618 Strickets Lodge, identified and the model aquired from a well known internet auction site. Thanks for looking John.
  8. Can anyone identify this Skaledale building, bears certain similarities with the Tuckshop perhaps? John.
  9. Hi all, is there an archive/historical list of buildings produced under the Skaledale label? John.
  10. I suspect it is an old Highfield Models vacuum formed kit, they also did a sentinel. Not bad for the money and a bit of care in the assembly. John.
  11. Good luck with the new house, I too have been gathering garden railway bits and pieces with a move on the horizon (hopefully b4 Christmas)! John.
  12. Welcome back, I look forward to seeing what you do. John.
  13. Ahh, the simple answers are always the best, I was planning on drilling out the casting around the motor to improve the balance. Thanks John.
  14. May I ask what the mods are you carried out to improve the balance?. John.
  15. And with the smoke will come a dark brown smell! John.
  16. Does anyone on here know if someone has taken on the range of etched windows formerly produced by GT Buildings? John.
  17. I wonder would anyone out there have a copy of Railway Bylines vol20 no'3 February 2015 they would like to part with? John. Now Sorted, Thanks.
  18. Bitchburn.......really? John.
  19. Oh Captain I love Dictu Prince, a Brian Clarke build eh? Haven't seen him for years John.
  20. Hi Argos, thanks for the heads up anyway, thing is you never know what's going to turn up on second hand sales stands. John.
  21. I'd be interested in one of each as well please Marc. Please don't move too quickly though I'm part way through a potential house move! John
