  1. I am glad to see that it is working for you Seems like SCARM runs well on the new Windows 10 and now I am preparing to launch the next update of the program. In the meanwhile, here are the SCARM railway blog posts for August. Check also the recently posted virtual model of Superquick A-10 Train Station Building in OO scale and use it in your SCARM layout plans. Mixy
  2. Hi Tony, Have you printed several pages from top left corner to the right, following the instructions or only the first page? Your layout configuration tells me that the first page (actually the first column of pages) may be empty when printed in 1:1. Mixy
  3. Hello Tony, "1:1 (for print)" will just set the page size on the screen to be 1:1 with the real page size in your printer. In order to print the track plan in 1:1, please follow the procedure in the link below: Print Whole Layout in 1:1 Scale (updated) Mixy
  4. And here are the SCARM railway blog posts for June and July. Read more about SCARM and Windows 10 if you plan to migrate to the new operating system and use SCARM on it. Most users that already upgraded reports that SCARM runs fine, even faster on Windows 10, but if your case is not the same, post here or comment in the blog for any issues or weird behavior when running SCARM on the new OS. 5. Here is the list with the SCARM railway blog posts for May. See also the last post with several Living and Engine Houses in HO scale (created by Howard McLay) which are also suitable for using in OO layouts. Download the project files if you want to edit and/or place some of these buildings in your SCARM track plans. Here is the two-story building with a swimming pool. As usual, there are more... Mixy
  6. Hi Paul, Not yet, but I am working over that. Should be done in the mid summer (I hope) together with some other great features Mixy

  8. In 2D, you can use either the keyboard arrow keys or on-screen scroll buttons for moving the drawing plot. In 3D, you can move the camera with the arrow keys or rotate it around the target with Ctrl + arrow keys as Jaggzuk suggested. Rotating can be also performed by the mouse with holding down left mouse button. See other shortcuts and combinations here: Using of Keyboard Shortcuts in SCARM. About background image - SCARM searches for it in the initial location and if not found it searches again in the folder where the .scarm project file is located - move both files together and they will be always linked together. Exporting int vector formats may be introduced in some of the future versions of the program. Mixy
  9. See also the list with SCARM railway blog posts for March. Watch the second Advanced Video Tutorial about buildings in SCARM. Mixy
  10. Many new layouts were added to the database in the past two months - here are two of them: Small Village HO Track Plan Hof Train Station Modular Plan in N scale Mixy
  11. Here are listed the SCARM railway blog posts for February. Check also the first Advanced Video Tutorial about working with baseboard feature in SCARM Mixy
  12. The new SCARM v. 0.9.29 is ready and published. Read more about it here: SCARM Railway Layout Planner 0.9.29 Released Hope you will like it Mixy
  13. Hi Rob, Please, select one of your own Metcalfe structures (some with fewer details), make a photos from all sides and from top, mark the dimensions and send it to me to the SCARM e-mail, listed on the first line here: http://www.scarm.info/index.php?l=en&page=contact About the dimensions - when you click on Length of selected section menu, SCARM calculates the total path length for both legs of each turnout or crossing - that's why it is always bigger than the actual physical dimension. If you want to obtain the real lengths, select the track and look in the status bar or measure it on screen using the Tape measure tool. Mixy
  14. Hi all Use the sizing grip (small triangle) at the bottom right corner of the background image to resize it. SCARM draws the image initially at scale 1_pixel_in_the_image = 1_mm_in_the_SCARM_plan, but you can rescale it according to your needs. See more about that here: Creating Layout of Several Modules in SCARM OK, I will check these and several of them may appear in a new library in some of the next versions of SCARM. Mixy
  15. Yes, some of these may appear in a dedicated library in some of the next releases of SCARM. Please, provide me with links where these structures are described. If there is a resource with pictures from all sides and dimensions, that will be the best. Here is the list of the SCARM railway blog posts for January 2015. Check How To Make Control Panels and Diagrams for SCARM Track Plans article if you want to know more about how to draw a stylized diagrams of your layouts like the example below of oval with one siding. The next version of SCARM will be published soon Mixy
  16. The new SCARM v. 0.9.28 is ready and published. See more about it here: SCARM Model Railway Track Planner 0.9.28 Released Hope you will like it Mixy
  17. Yep, I am also think over such idea. However I need to create an easy interface for making such polygons in 2D when the user looks from "above". Mixy
  18. I need to check the user opinions, because "adding of such feature" are just 4 words, but behind these, there is a lot of work to be done in order to see even simple movement in the 3D viewer. SCARM is and will continue to be a layout planning tool. If some simulation mode appears in the future, it will be a layout simulation extension to the main program in order to allow verifying of the train operations on the real layout and helping to avoid mistakes in the planning. It will not be a game or simulation of the real world transportation, as there are many other software packages for that. So any thoughts about running trains in SCARM are welcome. Mixy
  19. That will be quite difficult as the file formats of SCARM and TrainPlayer are not compatible. However, more and more users asks about running trains in SCARM and I may consider adding such feature in some of the future versions of the program. Here are listed the SCARM railway blog posts for December with a nice content, especially for N-scalers. The next version of SCARM is almost ready and should be published soon Mixy
  20. About size & area in JPEG export - no, that is not available in the current version of SCARM, but you can use text captions instead - see more here: How to add text in the drawing. About blue roads - yes, you can select a road section and color it in the same way like coloring of tracks in SCARM, but I do not recommend using roads as rivers. Mixy
  21. And something special for N-scalers: I've managed to make the complete KATO N Unitrack library for SCARM with all bridges and viaducts As the new version of the program is not yet finished, you can download the updated KATO library from here: Updated KATO N Unitrack Library for SCARM See some of the straight bridge and viaduct sections in 3D below: Try it and let me know if everything with the KATO bridges and viaducts is OK Mixy
  22. Several more layouts and track plans were added to the site in the last weeks, most of them in HO scale. Charlie's Train Room in H0 Scale Large Marklin HO Track Plan There are more than 35 HO-scale projects in the site now - see all of them here: H0 scale railway designs & track plans Hope you will like these Mixy
  23. Here I want to present the first very detailed virtual locomotive models in SCARM, created by Ian Donohoe and shown in the SCARM blog here: Detailed 3D Models of US Diesel Locomotives in SCARM Below are two of them: These are created with the object's interface of SCARM and are auto-scalable to the scale / gauge of the used tracks in the layout plan. Download the loco library from the blog's post and use these nice models in your virtual SCARM layouts Mixy
  24. IMPORTANT! Several bugs were discovered in SCARM 0.9.26 related to the renaming of the layers and then save and restore of the already changed layer names. The patched version of the program was released today. Please upgrade to SCARM 0.9.27, which can be downloaded from www.scarm.info to fix these problems. See more about this bugfix update in the following blog post: SCARM v. 0.9.27 Released. I am sorry if these bugs caused any problems and inconvenience in your work with SCARM. If you see another problems, please report them here or in SCARM Blog and I will try to fix them ASAP. Mixy
  25. And here is it - the new SCARM v. 0.9.26, coming with the new online help system integrated and the promised Layers feature. Read more details here: SCARM Track Planning Software 0.9.26 Released Hope you will like the new release @L&Y: Nice plan - I like it To make a JPG snapshot in SCARM 3D Viewer, select "JPEG files" for the file type in Save dialog box.
