  3. In the beginning of November, I launched the new SCARM website, which now has modern look and responsive design and comes with a lot of new and updated information and resources about the program. Go and see it: www.scarm.info The site now works well not only on PCs, but also on tablets and smartphones too. Contents section is rewritten and optimized for easy navigation and access to the most important pages. The same is valid also for the documentation - it has new structure with many new and updated topics. See the new help page here: Online help & FAQ about SCARM layout software Hope you will like the new site Mixy
  4. Many users asked about the file with the steam loco that I used for demonstration of the new cylinder features in v. 0.9.25. Here is it: Drawing of Prussian T3 Steam Loco in SCARM The article shows also most of the steps in the drawing of the loco. Here are the parts of the wheelset. See more pics in the blog post. Mixy
  5. Here is the list with September's railway blog posts in the SCARM blog. By user's request, one of the articles is about the Favorite libraries in SCARM... ...and shows how they can be turned off (if you don't want them in the selection panel). Mixy
  6. Give me some link or catalog snapshot of these tracks to see the dimensions and geometry and then will tell Mixy
  7. Something important! Several users reported for a problem with the new SCARM 0.9.25 after update. This is probably due to corrupted download of the installation package. It seems that sometimes installer is able to run even if it is not downloaded correctly, but after that, the program crashes on startup. If you also experience such problems, follow the steps described in the link below: Resolving SCARM Installation Issues This should help for fixing of bad setup package downloads Mixy
  8. Well, the guy who made all this in SCARM is not publishing the project files or at least I cannot find them. But you can contact it on FB and ask for the files. Another fan was also very impressed with the overhead system and yesterday sent a project in N scale, that he created for sharing. I will publish it soon Mixy
  9. See one nice gallery with very detailed SCARM screenshots, containing scenes from Indian Railways: Farrukhabad And More From Indian Railways in SCARM Here are just 3 of them: These were created with the old v.0.9.24 without the cylinder figures. The new v. 0.9.25 will be able to produce even more rich and realistic landscapes. Read about it at SCARM Railway Layout Software v. 0.9.25 Released in SCARM Blog. Mixy
  10. Hello again Many new interesting SCARM rojects in different scales were added to the Railway Layouts & Track Plans database in the past months. See two of them, which are already under construction: Bahnhof Burgdorf HO Layout Large Hornby Dublo Layout in 00 Scale Hope you will like them Mixy
  11. These are new in v.0.9.24 and are called Favorite libraries. You can control them form "Tools" > "Settings" > "Tracks Panel" > "Favorite libraries". If you want to turn them off, set "Slots" = 0 (zero). I will also make an article in the blog about that. Mixy
  12. That looks good And here are the blog posts for July: www.scarm.info/blog/2014/07. The next update of SCARM is almost ready and will come soon, I hope Mixy
  13. The plan looks cool If you can, post some pictures from the real layout building Here are the blog posts for May: www.scarm.info/blog/2014/05. And the only post for June: How To Make Circles / Cylinders in SCARM. The last can be quite useful if you want to represent nearly perfect standing cylinders for silos, water tanks, etc. Mixy
  14. Thank you, Bruno Here I want to present another two interesting articles from the blog. They are: How To Make a Roundhouse in SCARM - if you want to represent a realistic roundhouse in the track plan and 3D viewer. How To Speed-Up SCARM - if you are editing a large layout and SCARM is working slowly. Hope these will be of help Mixy
  15. See the last added N-scale project in the site, which is also a Featured layout for May: The Layout Room of John in N Scale More pictures and the track plan of this project can be seen in the link above. Hope you will like it Mixy
  16. Hi Bruno, I was not at home for several days, but now I am back online I received your files both by e-mail and on Facebook and will schedule them for publishing in the blog in the following weeks. All SCARM projects and files are welcome, but if you want to share them immediately with the other users, you can post them also here or in the other forums. Note that the .scarm extension is not recognized on most platforms, so it is good to use ZIP or other compressing software, before uploading SCARM projects. Mixy
  17. Yes, this is happening sometimes. When zooming in, it is possible that the length of the text in pixels to became large than the length of the track section itself. In this case, SCARM does not show the text label for the track length. When zoom out, the text label may become smaller and able to fit into the track section and SCARM shows it. This is related to the track length, the font (may be selected in the Settings) and zoom factor, so it is not possible to be controlled in all cases.
  18. The layouts and track plans in the site are growing and now there are more than 60 projects See the most remarkable additions to the database for March and April: Large Complex HO Layout Peco Setrack Station Plan in N scale Marklin Suitcase Layout in Z Scale Mixy
  19. Two more tutorials about road crossings were published in the blog. See all here: The roads in SCARM - All tutorials The articles are showing how to assemble the crossings, IS adapters and IS approaches in order to get various intersections and combinations, like the one below: The images are showing right side driving surface markings, but left driving is supported as well. More about the roads in SCARM is coming Mixy
  20. Many of you were asking about custom or double tunnel portals in SCARM layouts and track plans, so I prepared the following article: Custom Tunnel Portals in SCARM Hope it will be useful Mixy
  21. Hello all @Rob: I am starting with the tutorials about using of the roads - see the first article here: The Roads in SCARM – Part 1 – Basic Usage. You will probably need to select the road parts that you want to be in a tunnel and press the "Tunnel" mode button. @Barnaby: There is no way for automatic import of track plans from other programs, but you can export your track plan from Anyrail as image and import that image in SCARM using "View" > "Background Image" menu command. Then you could easily trace the route using the tracks in SCARM and quickly rebuild the track plan. I will probably write more about this subject in the blog. @sub39h: You're right about the parallel start point dialog - I will correct this. However, when using of the Toolbox for flex tracks and moving the mouse away, SCARM thinks that you continues to shape the track manually. That's why the Toolbox window is loosing the focus. I should work more to solve this issue as I am also suffering of it sometimes... Mixy
  22. @RAFHAAA96: Jon_1066 already proposed the right solution. You can read more about this here: How To Create Tunnel Under The Base Level in SCARM. @sub39h: Both suggestions will be added to the next release of SCARM You can check the length of selected flex track in current version by using of "Tools" > "Length of Selected section" menu item. Mixy
  23. It seems that these pits are built of several parts. Can you tell me the length of each pit part? Mixy
  24. Here is a nice collection of fast tips and hints, that may be useful in your daily work with SCARM: All Quick Tips in SCARM @beve: I am not sure, but the tracks on the screenshots are looking as all are placed in "Tunnel" mode. You can check this by select all (Ctrl+A) and then press and depress the "Tunnel" button in the Toolbar. Mixy
  25. This is one very good example of a real, already build layout, entirely designed in SCARM, which became Featured Operational Layout for February: Warren's Layout in HO scale See more pictures in the link above. Hope you will like it Mixy
