RMweb Gold TravisM Posted May 14, 2022 RMweb Gold Share Posted May 14, 2022 I recently acquired a Bachmann 03, 03026 which was a regular along with 03021 and 034 at Boston in the late 70’s, early 80’s for shunting duties. Did the 03’s also cross the swing bridge and shunt the docks complex or were they used around Boston Sleaford sidings and station? I assume that the type of traffic that was brought in the docks for export/import was coal, timber, steel and possibly locally grown produce in 4-wheel vans and opens. Before any one writes, I know that 03112 and 08704 were used in the 2010’s to bring the steel traffic from Boston Sleaford sidings to and from the dock complex. Michael Hodgson
I think the last GNR somersault signal still survives at the docks swing bridge.

BR traction instructor
I’ve seen an image of Urea being transhipped to/from rail in Boston docks during the 80s but can’t locate the image just now. BeRTIe
