Chelmsford MRC held a modest exhibition today at the Chelmsford City FC ground in Broomfield

Chelmsford exhibition

It doesn't seem to have been heavily advertised - there is no thread on here that I can see, there is no listing in RM , and I only found out about it through some messages on the DOGA forum.

There were some 8 layouts and two traders (John Dutfield and a secondhand trader), plus a demonstrator (Jas Milham) . I understand all layouts were from the club or its members, and the event was intended as a modest low-risk exercise to test whether there is still enough support for shows to be viable. The club will not be holding its traditional 1 day show at a Chelmsford school this autumn, but resumption of a full-scale show has been penciled in for October 2023

There has often been a small local show this time of year but previously in a church in Springfield and always worth going. Again just minimal advertising, found out the first time when visiting Dutfield’s on the day to be told in passing it was on just up the road.

That last layout was from the Mid-Essex club, they are planning a show in September.

17 September 2022 at ACL in Rayleigh Road, Hutton, Shenfield, Essex.  15 Layouts, and Trade Support (including CAVALEX) with demonstrations from Club Members and EMGS - with Refreshments and a Tombola.  Small Car Park on Site, around 10 minute walk from SHENFIELD railway station.

By the way Richard (in the image mentioned) is a happy person and a good modeller - perhaps the photographer caught him off guard.
