Steve

In Cornwall we don't have rain, we have liquid sunshine.

We have that in Mousehole too..

Lovely clear blue sky, sun is shining and it's raining, from where?

.. and NO it's not bird shut, as we say...  :sungum:

Can recommend a visit to anyone within striking distance.

Had a good weekend with you last year exhibiting Tormouth Quay, followed by the rest of the week exploring the area with wife & dog from our rented base in Porthleven.  Earlier this evening saw on "Spotlight" that it's the Porthleven Food Festival as well this weekend, so plenty of extra-curricular activities in the area for visitors & exhibitors alike.

Would also recommend a visit to the museum in Helston if you're in the area  -  small but very nicely formed, as the saying goes, with some really interesting displays & friendly staff.

Unfortunately unable to get down this year but hope to join you again before too long.

Best wishes to all.

It's the Porthleven Food & MUSIC Festival....  :O   Details can be found here >>>> http://porthlevenfoodfestival.com/

There's a LOT of live music in West Cornwall.

Was sorry to miss this as it's always a very enjoyable show - this year in particular with StRuth and StBlazey there. We were on missionary work in South Wales at NEWGOG - 2FS at a Gauge O Guild event!

Hopefully will be back in Cornwall for next years event.

Some lovely layouts there this morning, but it was a shame that a couple were having some difficulties so operation was limited. Having a small child with me saying "there's nothing moving, I want to see trains moving" meant that I could not spend as much time looking as I would have liked.

There were a couple of operators who were very child friendly, a massive thumbs up to them.

I know its a week ago now, but my great thanks to all the organisers of the Helston Show for an excellent weekend.

Bridport performed very well, even though the operators were a bit jaded on Saturday after a VERY early start.  It doesn't look good to be yawning in front of the visitors on the first morning of a show!

Thanks also to the guest operators; Stubby took time out from preparing for SWAG to spend a long stint on the controller, followed by Phil Coppleston and John Greenwood.

One of my Baldwins paid a visit to Gweek North Quay, to see if it would get round the 18inch radius hidden curves, quite a bit tighter than the loco is normally capable of.  It made it in reverse; the bogie derailed going forward, but re-railed itself when it reached the scenic section

Many thanks for the weekend,

Dave.

And the local photographer was there to record the event!

The HVR 'legend' does include a couple of Baldwins bought after WW1 but this is probably the nearest we shall get to tangible evidence since the much-missed Wrightlines kit disappeared into the ABS Black Hole some years ago.

At the same event my L & M 2-6-4 made an appearance on Bridport Town to see if it liked the curves which surprisingly it did! unfortunately the photographer missed that event!

A bit delayed but many thanks to the organisers for a very pleasant weekend. Also thank you to the club member who operated Southurst on the Saturday and Sunday to enable me to have a lunch break, and a special thanks to the ladies who brought the teas and coffees round. The show was well organised with some lovely layouts and the catering very good indeed.

And very nice it looked Steve.

I have to say that although that Slaters kit has been around for 20 years or more, that's the first one I've actually seen finished and running!

Cheers Dave.
