Waverley47708
Always enjoy Ayr, well worth the journey. Looking forward to running Laurencekirk, to seeing Blair Atholl again and interested to see Stanley Junction. If its the Stanley Junction I am thinking of perhaps we could link it to Laurencekirk! Couple of photos of Laurencekirk, a Three Hour Express and Fish train.
RMweb Gold Scottish Modeller Posted August 13, 2018 RMweb Gold Share Posted August 13, 2018 (edited) Hi all, I am pleased to say that NGS in Scotland have been invited to provide a stand at the show. This will be an information/demonstration stand covering not just N Gauge Society information but also N gauge in general. Not sure yet what the deoms will be - yet... More nearer the time! luckymucklebackit
Yes - I was down this morning and had a thoroughly good time, great layouts and it also always seems to be a particularly good show for reasonably priced second hand stuff. luckymucklebackit
ditto the car parking; I couldn't get a space so missed the show..... Think the secret is to go on the Sunday (early) as there are no charges for street parking in Ayr, I parked up at the main bridge over the River and walked down to the Citadel Jim

RMweb Premium Legend Posted September 16, 2018 RMweb Premium Share Posted September 16, 2018 Went today Sunday. No issue in parking at all. Nice relaxing show. Thoroughly enjoyed watching the trains on Pathead in particular, but of course Blair Atholl always superb as was Laurencekirk and Stanley Junction. Always a pleasure to browse books on Douglas Blades stand . I too thought some of the second hand was very reasonably priced. In fact it was striking that there was not do much new stuff on sale and a lot of second hand . There was a stand selling 2 Lima diesels for £50 and even offered one for £20 . I do wonder if the bottom has fallen out of that market with lots of later Bachmann models around 2nd hand . Overall a nice couple of hours pottering around . Well done Ayr
Lowlander
Hi That's the hall cleared for another year. It's heartening to hear that people enjoyed the exhibition. Thank you to all the traders and exhibitors who had came from far and wide to provide a really relaxed and good natured exhibition. Not forgetting to mention the excellent standard of layouts that were exhibited. We hope to see you all again next year. RMweb Gold Scottish Modeller Posted September 16, 2018 RMweb Gold Share Posted September 16, 2018 Hi all, Another good show provided by AYR MRG - much appreciated. As has now become normal I tool the NGS in Scotland stand to the show - getting to be regular now! 3 N gauge layouts and 1 2FS - so plenty for the N gaugers to see. Once again spoke to a lot of people about N Gauge, N Gauge Society and possible area groups in Scotland. Also talked a lot about Finetrax - lots of interest in what I had on show and demonstrating what is what and possible how to scenarios with the range. More to come on another date about that though. Also had a lot of interest in the N Gauge Society wagon kits that I was demonstrating as well. AS lot of interest was also shown in the 4ft by 1ft 3in module I am building. The turntable and how to fit/mount/motorise it was a major repeat discussion. So - On to the next show? Dundee at DISC 13th and 14th October 2018 Thanks
gridwatcher
Thanks from SDEG and Ian McCreadie's 'Blair Atholl Towards Drumochter' team for help and hospitality at another great Ayr show . Hope you enjoyed it as much as we did?
