Great pictures there.

A medium grey seems to be in the majority, but some look lighter, and some look darker grey like yours.

I was tempted to paint the next three a darker shade like yours, but now think not.

As an aside, these cheap coaches are costing me loads.

I have purchased the following,

1. Bachmann maroon Mk1 brake van as in photos to go with three of these.

2. Bachmann SR green Mk1 restaurant car to make a rake of four.

3. Another Maunsell to make a rake of four.

4. Waiting on three Hawksworth coaches (may get a fourth or use one of these)

A rake of four coaches is just about right for my small layout.

The three Hornby Hawksworth coach I have just received from Hattons each cost less than that.

They are gorgeous.

You can get the Bachmann Mk1 for less that that.

Some people and their money.

Evey body has pointed out about the issues with the under frame. But looking at it from this angle I don't think its all bad.

This is one of the side of the coach when you dismantle it. I have seen on other threads on this site that people have been painting the insides of the coaches to make the sides look a darker colour.

Those look really good.

Did you airbrush the sides?

I love the weathered roofs. Very effective.

Sorry the coaches are not mine they are some pictures I have picked up of another site. I just upload other peoples stuff some times to help others see what can be done.

Found these photos on the web of some Irish Railways coaches. Again they look excellent and a different look to the usual BR colours.

The above photo has the Hachette coach is on the left. Notice the steps on the end of the coach have been removed like the prototype.

With so many variations possible, maybe I should have bought a few more.

I'm thinking the same. when you see on other forums the moaning and groaning about these coaches you have to laugh and wonder what they are thinking. A coach for

Issue 4 was on sale in Asda today and on inspection the level crossing looks OK but not worth the money. You are better off with the old Airfix one.

Just seen this on another page on this site.

Issue six is out today - the stone work looks rather over scale and the windows look too recessed while the doors are moulded flush with the walls. The rear and front walls are identical as are the end walls which do not feature any windows. That said it is a lot more solid and 3D than a card kit! Issue 7 will feature a bag of scatter and a piece of curved track ( contain your excitement please). If you save stamps from issues 6 to 20 you get the chance to buy the Bachmann Jinty for
