Short video of trains moving on the layout

I was playing around with the camera last night and made a short clip of some trains on the layout. Let's see if it works:

The hardest part was converting from my camera's .mov file format to something I could read in Windows movie maker, which I

always forget how to do each time. Hope you like the clip. It's basic, but I could try something a bit longer next time, with a few

more trains and different scenes.

Lovely Al!  I particularly like the last clip where you start on the bridge and then pan to follow the train.  I've never tried posting up video on the forum, it sounds as if it's a bit of a challenge!

Thanks both - actually the panned shot is a bit too jerky at the start for my tastes, and I did it three times before I got one that wasn't too bad. I didn't want to start panning until the train was already under the bridge, but there's a bit of resistance from my tripod mount as it starts to move.

Dave - all I did was upload it to Youtube, as you would any Youtube clip, and then simpy paste the URL into the blog post as you'd do for any link. The fiddly stuff is all in the editing to join the individual clips together, but if you just did a single clip, and your camera outputted a common video format, you'd be able to load it up pretty easily.

Highly evocative, great video made me want to be on the bridge and breath in the smoke!

Thank you very for taking the time and effort to post it here.

Thanks Al, once my loco's move under their own power I'll have a go at uploading some clips!

That's a good point, Robin - I'll get the King out next time!

As a coda, I downloaded a bunch of advertising malware last night while installing the .mov to .avi converter, so beware! Spent this morning sorting that one out!

Hi there, this is very easy on the eyes! it's good to see trains moving at sensible speeds through some impressive scenery -  would be nice to be able to achieve this sort of standard on my own layout!

Regards

Steve.
