Got a little further with this, the boiler and smokebox are now joined together. The washout plug holes drilled. But not the oned for handrails, front platform supports, or the ones for the clearance around the valve gear rockers.

I have built the firebox, added the washout plugs but still need to add the mud hole covers.

The cab roof has now been added, and looks better for the added rivet detail.

I have also fitted the splashers. I am not quite sure they are in the right place. the front ones fit nicely in the support cutouts and the inside edges line up well with the footplate etch. But there seems to be a large gap between each side I am hoping the flanges do not show.

All the parts put in place ready for fitting, you will see the firebox needs work at the bottom. The boiler unit seems a good fit in the saddle and against the firebox front.

Ah, coming together nicely. Those rivets do look good.

Looks like Brazil will draw with Mexico. Football-free zone or not, I assume the mood on the street won't be too happy!

Thanks Mikkel.

The roads were empty still after the game for our drive back from the inlaws. Seeing the TV news, looking at the crowd at the match you would think the world was ending.

Imagine if all that money had been spent on building model railway exhibition halls :-)

It's actually quite relaxing to watch some games this time, as Denmark hasn't even qualified. Takes away some of all the hysteria, and we can be curious about other teams. OK, I'll be quiet now :-)
