Well we have had a couple of successful days. I have finished the loco body except for my deliberate mistake, can anyone spot it. I also have given it a coat of primer. Now need to get the 1000 grit wet and dry out and find some filler from somewhere. Might try baking powder and loctite I read about the other day for resin castings. There is quite a bit to be sanded, and a bit of filling around the fire box. It is actually much better than I thought it was going to be,

So it was then out with the tender, all I could remember it needed was a couple of castings, buffers, and cleaning. Well how wrong can you be. I checked everything over after a good scrubing, apart from a couple of bits that fell off. I was not happy with the ladderon the rear, so off it came, stripped down and rebuilt with new rungs. A whole lot better

Then came the handrail, one knob was loose, but I was not happy with the handrail itself after faffing around with it I took it all off and replaced it with nickel silver handrail. Why I did not do that in the first place.

I need to replace two reinforcing brackets on the inside of the rear bunker, they are missing for some reason or other. The water filler and dome need to be refitted. The buffer casings that where attached I removed and still have to add the new ones. Then I think that will be about it. The chassis I decided to leave with it's sprung centre axle.

Did anyone spot my mistake. It is something that should of been attachedbeforepriming. Now it will be a bu##er to do.

It just gets better and better watching this develop - that boiler plate with all the controls is just simply stunning. Brilliant and dedicated modeling.

Buckjumper,

I used to use filling putty, I never brought one with me, yes you can cet similar here it is just finding out where. They don't have halford type places. As yet not found anything, SWMBO is a lawyer so has no knowledge of such things.

Thanks I was pleased with the back head too. The model is turning out OK considering what it was to start with. Sometimes I wonder why I do these rebuilds.
