I live with my wife Kim, two dogs and two of our four children in Wiltshire. For many years I had a small workshop making reproduction furniture before becoming a lecturer in modern history. In 2002 I returned to the tools and now make my living as a modelmaker.

My great pleasures outside of family and modelling are walking the dogs, vegetable gardening and riding on Britains heritage lines.
