  1. Quick question. Does the model come with any dummy couplers that reflect the prototype? If not has anyone any suggestions on a product to use? Thanks.
  2. "Refreshed several times up until its final withdrawal in 1994 its livery subtly changed each time and our model represents the classic Network SouthEast 1988-91 period with full-length orange cantrail stripe." Wasn't the full orange stripe added early 1986? So what livery tweak makes this right for 1988-91?
  3. Definately Fran. Look at this picture I took at Warrington Arpley in February 1998 just before the 66 invasion. I count at least 19 different locos in as many colours as you can imagine. As usual I didn't realise it at the time but this really was the end of the glory days of first generation diesel & electric traction and a fantastic era to model.
  4. Anyone know why these units were renumbered from the 143 0XX series to 143 6XX in the early 1990s?
  5. I've found this link very good - https://www.modernimageogauge.co.uk/crompton.html. Not a class 31 however the principles are the same.
  6. For anyone still looking for these at a fair price, I know Gaugemaster are still working through their pre-orders and may have some surplus as I for one will not be taking my allocation with them as I have more than enough from other retailers following the twin pack revelation.
  7. If there was another run it would be nice to have some in their original livery with Northern Powerhouse decals as they still run in mixed rakes today (recent picture from Flickr).
  8. I don't have any of the first release to compare but the new ones are very light IMHO so it's hard to imagine them being even lighter orignally. If there are problems I would hope it will be fairly straight forward to add some additional weight given the central hollow fully enclosed shell however.
  9. Demand does seem to still be outstripping supply however. All of the Kernow's available models went overnight.
  10. I ordered a couple of production 59619 ESU Lokpilot v5 decoders before you announced your own Class 92 'ready to install' versions. What settings do I need to change to these decoders to make them ready for the class 92? Thanks.
  11. Thanks Richard. Did you take any pictures or video of the mod?
  12. Sorry can please just check this? The spec for the Gaugemaster 100MO says they have a rated output of 2.5 amps so are they really suitable for large Heljan locos?
  13. Who will be first to find a way of lowering the silencer to the correct height?
  14. Thanks. They look like brackets for temporarily holding something which could well have been some sort of aerial or flashing light for working in an industrial complex? Here is a picture (again off Flickr) of D3257 (08188) before the bracket was fitted but clearly carring an aerial in a similar location.
  15. Hi, Can anyone please tell me what the bracket was for that was fitted to the cab end top right on at least 08187 to 08198 in the early 70s? All locos were allocated to Cardiff Canton at the time. Pictures from Flickr.
  16. Doug Slight correction to your master list in the first post. The 1999/2000 Claye wagon was numbered 37-175 and not 37-175Z see: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/125646730864?hash=item1d4120f670:g:cC4AAOSw4OBjjHJe&amdata=enc%3AAQAHAAAAoM9Q2mvX2MWNRQjNbVLnI1ZWdUJKKxn3AnNwSy93iSP2KtO6g94ALEeQYXbvugMQeps9R1Sx1j57%2Bn7jKewfsRlxBUiQm%2F%2BKNXKOPUmO53y8Jg7TG4Z1sM%2Bcp%2BZgijx%2BjC%2F3Li%2FubvLJbga0ZRrIkigr8nPEJ2F6uYfOJjJBThPPFqOqHb6RQeYhoFPI5IE%2F9d%2FOMYMvoQbBFuq8oeJyOck%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR-SN252cYQ
  17. Picture taken at Old Oak Common in March 1995. Presumably the long rakes of ARC wagons in the background are those stored after the issues experienced? By the way, when Dapol say 'ARC Olive & Grey' livery I assume they mean the original ARC 'Mustard' livery?
  18. They look great. Hopefully they will do some 00 versions in the future too.

    Heljan OO 86/2

86260 in Anglian seems a strange choice as it only wore the livery for around a year before withdrawal? Bit more research: Painted into Anglian livery November 2003, entered service with Anglian February 2004 and stored, not to return to Anglian service, in October 2004.
  20. 50017 in late 80s NSE condition ideal for me. Just need a layout like this to go with it!
  21. Intercity livery looks OK to me compared to this. What am I missing?
  22. Did you get the opportunity to ask about the oversized silencers? Ruining the overall look of the model for me unfortunately.
  23. Yes, definately true of the prototype but not the end of the world compared to other potential issues.
