  1. Very sad news, we both enjoy their programmes and a lot of small and artisan food producers in this country are better off for the publicity they gained from a visit from Si and Dave.
  2. We had a Lima motor bogie where the plates on the commutator measured a high impedance, all the windings were fine, it didn't run hot., it just ran very slowly, we exchanged the armature and all good, if your windings are fine, consider fitting your slow armature into a Lima 09 for nice slow running.
  3. Jammie Rings, they are always the first to go out of the biscuit box and must not forget the dead fly (Garibaldi) too
  4. Yes you managed two of your five a day with the strawberry and the mushy peas!
  5. We all had a really enjoyable weekend at the show and great to see so many regular customers and a big thank you to the gentleman who found the secret to getting to the front of the crowd at my stand, help me by refilling it... Saturday evening Doncaster is now Fish and Chips over the road at the Old Fire Station with a knickerbocker glory for pud , washed down with a pint of dandelion and burdock and a good chat, all booked in for a trip down south to Allie Pallie next month too.
  6. The Royal Mail strikes are proving hassle for all online retailers, most of my customers have been patient, but even the most patient get itchy after 2 weeks, the delays seem really random, some parcels 2nd Class signed arrive in 3 days others are taking over two weeks, all we are saying is sorry but we cannot guarantee a delivery before Christmas, in 16 years of sending thousands of parcels annually we have only had one get completely lost, some very slow and some returned undelivered, but they arrive, so not bad stats. My Post Office did say they didn't want to see us until Friday this week as on occasions they have not even had the van collect the evening before a strike day.
  7. Bring back Battlespace and the Giraffe car yes please who doesn't love the Turbo Car
  8. Good luck with that, we will be aiming to be spot on time to get the full use of our 1 hour slot inside the zone, please remember I am the alternative B31, wonder if I will get the heart after my company name from the person with the chalk....! as I did back in 2018 🧐
  9. Stand E11 is Attwood Aggregates and is on the floor plan, Stand E11A is Keeping it Rusty is not on the floor plan, with a lot of last minute changes the floor plan should not have been put into the public domain, is this the reason why the 2019 floor plan is still on the website?? just hope all of the corrections are sorted for the happy band of "Yellow Canary" volunteers helping people find stands and on the website version for people planning their route around the hall.
  10. As we knew our stand number on the floor plan was incorrect, and had reported it to the committee at the beginning of October, my husband spent half-an-hour this afternoon and has reviewed the Warley floor plan against the exhibitor list for errors and has spotted the following: Elaine's Trains - Stand B38, there are two stand B31s on the floor plan Keep It Rusty - Stand E11A, not on floor plan Rapido Trains - Stand A58A - not on floor plan Saddletank Books - Stand B79A - not on floor plan Both SE Finecast and Squires are both shown as A58 Telford Steam Railway - Stand C7, there is an unlabelled stand where C7 would be York Model Railway Show - Stand A57, there are only stands A57A-A57T, no A57. Stand D31 is unoccupied He's also noticed that Stewart Blencowe's stand has moved considerably to be by the entrance and the Austrian Railway Group's stand has been moved to the rear of the hall, away from the other continental club stands. Also, a number of layouts are not shown in bold on the exhibitor list. Hopefully this is helpful.
  11. Post Covid we started the years exhibitions with Doncaster and will finish with Warley, my smaller local shows are very enjoyable, as trade we always consider getting fed as a very welcome bonus and are always grateful, even free tea all weekend is one less thing to think about when packing, the flasks get a weekend off and we don't over work the small hotel room kettles. Most of my shows have been very well attended, even through the summer a few people were wearing masks, my event calendar is filling up nicely for 2023 so let's hope we are back to normal now.
  12. Van loaded, this is a new show for us, although we already do two Milton Keynes shows we are looking forward to seeing lots of regular customers and plenty of new ones.
  13. From my experiences immaculate Tri-ang locos are still out there hiding in attics waiting to be found, with collectors always looking to improve on pieces they have to display and many still run them, you are certainly better off obtaining a scruffy one to restore and detail up, or consider one of the new Hornby examples where they have improved the running quality by adding pick ups to the front pony and it will run through modern Peco and Hornby point work with no hopping or derailing.
  14. Another spotted on exhibition travels, Alexandra Palace service yard entrance.
