  1. That's an interesting one because not only is the vehicle height not fixed, the top deck height is adjustable, but also the load on the top deck is variable! I guess there must be (should be?) a "good" height gauge - at the loading depot - to give this information accurately. Of course, this won't help if you are "picking up" vehicles whilst you are out-and-about! Kev.
  2. Spot welding does not produce an "arc". I have never seen a "blue flash" from spot welding. (I guess it must happen but for an extremely shot duration if the required "good contact" is not there before the fire button is pressed.) We use bench-top spot welders at work and they don't even produce the trade-mark" orange sparks that the industrial robotised spot welders spectacularly produce - think car body production lines. Nah - UV glassed not required but some PPE maybe needed and it's always a good idea. I really wanted to know if anyone had used this device as it looks as if you might need 3 or 4 hands to use it! 2 probes, holding the 2 work pieces AND then pressing the "fire" button. Kev.
  3. weren't me either. I wos nowhere near there, just ask anyone Kev.
  4. Hi, I came across this today, has anyone used one? It's currently available, for 50 Euros from "Elektor"... https://www.elektor.com/products/fnirsi-swm-10-portable-battery-spot-welder?_kx=TaJuNYyXQkl5wB4OiZUNacEOBPespImjCkelUvqCEb8.QQ33pb Regards, Kev.
  5. "Well I'll go to the foot of our stairs!" Kev.
  6. I really can't see how a 350 shunter could get to Piccadilly Gardens as there are a few "tight" corners of a radius not much more than the length of the shunter! There was a metro-mainline connection just outside of Manchester Victoria station though... Kev.
  7. Another source, that needs to be eliminated, is static electricity. Namely the floor and shoes used. Some hotels, I stay in, give me a zap every time I touch my rooms door handle! Kev.
  8. You could just write about typical days or workings. You are a great read as you have a real talent for setting the scene and not distracting the reader with trivial/irrelevant data. There was also a lot of useful modelling info in almost every paragraph. Much appreciated and missed. Kev.
  9. Amps will only cause you a problem if... A/ There is enough "volts", behind them, to force the "amps" through you! (A shock.) B/ There are "a lot" of amps, normally in the circuit, and you provide a short(er) circuit for them. (A fire hazard.) C/ There aren't enough amps for what you want them to do! (The thing doesn't work!) Was the layout wiring complete and the LED circuit connected to a PSU (of some sort) but currently switched off? Regards, Kev.
  10. For your first post, above, I was going to say "nah rubbish - I can't see the menu" but thought better of trying that joke. ..but I'm now glad I didn't because I can see that there was a printed menu! Outstanding. Kev.
  11. Wow - they really brush up well! My (lonely) one arrived out of the blue yesterday. Really pleased. Kev.
  12. Victoria with a Teddy-Bear and a Skin Head! Kev. (Can't wait for these pictures to disappear and someone tries to make sense of this!)
  13. I found that being 3-0 up is worse ! Kev.
