He still will not answer his phone, (various times on the three days} I know he is a one man band but this is just plain stupid!! and Warley is not an excuse ether.
-
Has any one managed to contact Shawplan recently, I have tried his phone several times to place an order (Monday, Tuesday, and Friday) with no success, is he still trading?

Looking for an N Gauge class 85 electric resin body kit , unbuilt, part built etc.

He was an inspiration to us all, and I certainly miss the pilgrimage with the BNNRS to see him and Retford before I moved to the south east upon retirement, as a fellow EM modeller he was keen to see something that you could bring to run after the sequence, ending with the Deltic and passenger train belting across the junctions way way above the supposed speed limit!! I have a short video of my DJH Garrett (single motor) pulling his long freight for a few circuits, he and the crew were surprised that it completed them as a few guest locomotives did not, yes Roy you will be missed, RIP.
-
Thanks for that, I will take one if you still have one left.

Is there a price for the Fell yet?
-
If the van rear is thin you could use a nail as I have done on one of my Scalecraft Roadrailers.
-
Dare I ask, how much is the Fell?

This show is not on the calendar page for JUNE? Steve.
-
Just in case you wondered what all the fuss is about this layout, it was described in R.M. May 2004, the photos show it when I sold it on. Steve.

I have just found this thread, Yes , it's good to see my old train set is still going strong and being shown at exhibitions, something I did not contemplate when it was along the garage wall and just used for some occasional shunting. Steve.

Here are the locos on top of my article in the March 1988 R.M., at the left hand side back is the B1 conversion using an old Westwater & Kirk kit, they also did a V1, Steve.

It was very good for the time and adaptable, I built a Royal Scot, Patriot, various Black Fives and an 8F from the the Jubilee you but couldn't get away with it now though, and I described them in the Railway Modeller, funny though I had them down at the club last night to see if they still worked and they did after all those years. Steve.

Its the old one in any scale, say from O gauge down, to keep costs low for a smaller British market, British body,s to the same scale would not fit onto a Continental chassis with out increasing the size, the Trix A2/A3 and Minitrix Britannia are good examples. They use a modified German pacific chassis as a starting point, unlike now where the manufacturer / tool maker stars with a clean sheet of paper so to speak, even with similar models or even between batches of the same models, OO Gauge "Bogie bolster C" plateback bogies I have found at least three slightly different ones from different production batches. It's not just down to one person or company, the idea of just making the model's a bit larger for the U.K. would be obvious to any manufacturer trying to enter what was essentially a toy market from the 1920's say, onwards. Steve.

Is there any news on the green ones arriving yet? the website says March/April. -
Just found this thread, awesome build, reminds me of my attempt at your resin class 25 with two motors, delrin drive and running fan, it pulled the first train on "Idleford Town" the B.N.N.R.S. O Gauge layout but since sold on, here's a couple of photo's of it. Steve.

Oh and if any one reading this is looking for L/S drive bands, you can use replacement Hornby Dublo traction tyres in Neoprene also on fleebay (where I got mine from). Steve.
-
If you look on fleebay for lone star you can come across an original replacement chassis less motor and wheels. Steve.

Here is a train of fifteen Scalecraft Roadrailers on my EM Gauge Trafalgar Yard layout, since sold on due to lack of space. The train includes the open trailer bringing up the rear, this Roadrailer train has done a couple of circuits on Roy Jackson's Retford which caused some amazement and incredibility that they stayed on the track and together. Steve.

Sleet Locomotive kit in 4mm scale - if the demand is there!
xm607 replied to Broadway Clive's topic in London Underground
After finding this thread I had a go at one in N Gauge, depending on the minimum radius curve its meant to go around the inner bogies might have to be dummies as they are on mine. its to be powered by a Kato Shorty chassis by the way. Steve. -
