  1. I make a slightly different but similar kit. The stairs on the right box are in the air as this box is sunk into the platform.
  2. Have a look at Welwyn North for what it might be like in these days. Similar architecture and on the same line.
  3. Hi, There is this thread if you haven't already seen that has some potentially useful pictures Tuxford
  4. I make lasercut kits and here are a few examples in various scales. Putting the extra detail on takes design time and research for the right materials and the development of laser techniques to get as much in as possible. Then the production of the kit isn’t just a press a button.
  5. If you still need this, I sell sheets and I can laser cut to size and other details. Here on a painted model.
  6. I make the intentio cassettes and I can think of a way of making a cassette that will fit on the rails if you’re interested.
  7. Another kit to add to the stable is our 7mm version of a Sand Bin and Furnace building. This one based on the still existing one at Didcot. nice I hope engraved details and not shown but there are holes to take wire handles. a 4mm version will be forthcoming but that’s behind other projects.
  8. Well we’ve all had colds so not much happening these last few days but we did have a chance to put our sticky slates on the 4mm signal box. Also a try out of brick window sills which most of these GWR signal boxes had.
  9. Looking at this, I think we can do this in 4mm. So yes, we will!
  10. Yes and no, the line thickness in the settings can alter the way some lasers handle the line that’s why I mentioned it.
  11. A couple of other commission projects on the workbench this week. 4mm version of the coal stage and look at those rivets on the tank. Pleased with how this has come out. Plenty of layered brickwork. Also the first of a series of 4mm GWR signal boxes for a commission but kits will be available before Christmas. Still prototyping at the moment.
  12. Phil, You will need a bit of a learning curve and its probably best to wait and let us know the laser and software so we can set you up on the right path but as a minimum you'll need to use an app such as Adobe Illustrator, CorelDraw, QCAD, Autocad, Inkscape etc that will produce vector files. DXF and SVG being the most common file type. When making the drawing, you'll need to use different colours and line thicknesses to instruct the laser the settings for the cut/engrave. Some lasers will require these colours to be on a separate layers within the drawing but it is good practice to do this anyway as it will make it quick and easy to alter the file to be compatible with alternate laser requirements. The lasers will almost certainly have software that reads the DXF/SVG file and then possibly require manipulation to setup up the cutting parameters. You won't need to learn GCode as any modern commercial laser and most hobby lasers will have an interface to do this for you. In any case there are apps that will covert a vector file to GCode if needed. I've attached a link that may help you with getting a drawing ready for the laser. https://www.intentio.shop/BespokeLaserCutting Once we know what laser you have access too and the software, it will be a bit easier to tailor the method for you. Once you've cut your first project you'll want more!
  13. About a year ago we moved to an industrial unit and last week we unpacked the last box. We found some parts to our Coal Stage kit which as one of our earliest kits has been updated over the years and parts mostly obsolete. Not wanting to actually throw the parts away, we sifted through and realised we almost had a full kit so getting rid of the chaff and cutting the missing parts between jobs a coal stage is born. Graham took on the task to build and paint and hand punch an unknowable number of rivets in the water tank. I do know that it took him over 2 and half hours while watching Netflix! Just look at them though. Well worth it. Will have an update on progress next time. Also on the workbench is an Engine Shed kit in 4mm. Based on Thaxted this perfectly complements our 4mm Water Tower kit. Looking good so far. Will have paint on the prototype tomorrow and the first kits will be rolling out early next week to the preorders.
  14. I was scratching my head a bit when you decided to forgo the windows supplied in the kit but those look really good and also very GWR too. The whole build is good and I’m very impressed. I found a partial set of parts in a box under dust in the workshop and Graham has taken on the task of building and painting it. On the tank, the laser marks for the rivets can be pressed out with a rivet machine if desired. On the attached picture Graham spent over two hours while watching Netflix!
  15. This is huge but I’ll measure up next week for you.
  16. We are working on a GWR loan act shed. The 4mm version is here coming together.
  17. Some pictures of our diesel shed taken at the MIOG Crewe show.
  18. I have a copy. What do you need? edit, just seen reply above. There are some drawings of coal towers but I’ll need to dig out and see if they are similar enough to the one you want.
  19. 7mm peel and stick Railway posters are now available. More will follow as well as advertising and shop signs.
  20. Our 7mm Midland/BR based engine shed coming close to completion. This will be on our stall at the Gauge O Show Kettering next Saturday.
