Pragmatic Pre-Grouping - Mikkel's Workbench
BrushType4 replied to Mikkel's topic in Kitbuilding & Scratchbuilding
Thanks Simon, I think that is a very early Rob Burage kit. I've just checked the original file and it hasn't got the 'comb' type corners that are increasingly becoming the standard on new kits. At the time, this was state of the art and very well received and certainly piqued my interest and ultimate path into producing my own kits. Mikkel, I hope that your modification to the walls hasn't made the exterior walls too small. Andy Pearce is the owner of the railmodel and I'm sure he would supply replacements if needed. I would suggest, fixing the walls as designed in the kit an then use a very fine file to put the mortar lines on the end parts. -

If people are interested in these units, I can combine them if you need a run of them. -

Signal Box Windows - looking for correct fret.

I can do these too if needed. -
These are few examples of laser cut; I think for realism, they are hard to fault. So I'm interested what texture and feel problems you mention?

John, I'll make any size window for a small arrangement fee. I also have maybe 80 windows+ in my portfolio so I probably have a window for every occasion!

The sleepers were a little extra and not part of the kit. You've done a great job of it though.

Model retailers under lockdown - those still operational
BrushType4 replied to AY Mod's topic in Model Shop Guide
Intentio are operating from their Workshops and are posting daily. Some delays are inevitable due to the issues we are all facing. -
I'm professional laser cutter and I cut 90% MDF without issue. I extract to atmosphere via a filter and a baffle (to reduce noise). If you decide not to get your own laser, I'll happily cut your plans for you.

A little progress on Swindon. I had a chance this morning to cut a section out on the laser and quickly assemble it. The lintel detail is still to be added and a compromise was done on the chamfered bricks to one course instead of two. I think it looks ok. The Gable ends are next.
