Thinking about the perennial problem on an end to end layout, how to deal with the scenic break. Maybe some form of colliery building at one end, but the other? Bridge? Tunnel?

This arrived in the post this morning. Picked up for a song on ebay. Far East Distributors Baldwin Mogul. Listed as a non runner. The gears in the loco seem smooth enough, so maybe an issue with the motor. Anyway, challenge accepted.

That would be the only one of these three remaining, but has been much modernised. Space constraints mean I only have room for two buildings.

Looking a how much will be modelled now. The aim is the boxed section in the photo and a bit more to the left. Nothing in front of the wall or embankment. The cottages to the right of Smiths will formed of this kit from Fair Price Models. Although low relief, I will be adding backs. Getting a good look at the building up the lane behind the Travellers' is not so easy. The ones that remain, in the centre, have been extensively modernised, if not rebuilt completely. One of them was the Quarryman's Arms, but which one? Anyway, I will be ordering these two from Scale Model Scenery.

Will do. PS. Can you squeeze a 1000x600 table in? I could bring along some of my HOn3 for display. -

I'll be there again. And if you have any last minute cancellations. or if you can find room for a 1000x600mm table, I would be happy to bring along a selection of HOn3 for display. -

Apart from adding a couple of drains for the downpipes, it's complete. Next job is weathering. The dates on the circus/boxing posters would be for 1961.

Who cares? Modelling is about enjoying what you do, not what others think. A friend of mine is also a very big Gerry Anderson fan, so I sent him a link to this.

The Travellers' Rest now has outside facilities. Added the brick paper to the station building this morning. Once dry, the building was decidedly warped. So extra bracing was added while the structure was held firmly down, then added pieces to correct the warp in the gable ends. I will use a felt-tip to touch up around the windows and doors. I imagine the structure attached at the end would be a Gents toilet. I'll be using a Wills SS65 kit for the inside, for which I will be diving into the shed to dig out. Walls will be built up using 1.5mm plywood, brick paper and craft paper for the inside. Once this is done, I suppose I hade better start looking at the baseboards.

Window sprue arrived from Peco when I got home from work. Window openings modified, bit of extra depth and slightly narrower. 3 days off now, but loads of house work to catch up on, so maybe not much modelling done.
