  2. Two more from the Spa Valley: TTFN, Ron.
  3. A few more clips from the Spa Valley: Hope you like 'em. TTFN, Ron.
  4. At long last I've had time to edit some of my video footage from the Spa Valley Railway Winter Steam Gala and get some clips on YouTube: Hope they're of interest. TTFN, Ron.
  5. Two more short clips from 'All Our Yesterdays' are now on YouTube: Ron.
  6. Another clip from the 1995 Ffestiniog Railway Steam Gala showing the side to side hunting motion of BURGONDE caused by the Klein-Lindner hollow axels: https:
  7. Here's the second archive clip from 1995:
  8. The first of a number of clips from my video footage shot at the Ffestiniog Railway 'All Our Yesterdays' 1995 steam gala is now on YouTube. It's digitalised from VHS tapes, so not up to today's standards, but a record of the occasion if nothing else. Further clips to be added as time allows. Ron.
  9. Afternoon All, I've put a few short video clips of the 'Giants of Steam' event on YouTube: Plenty more to follow as time permits... TTFN, Ron.
  10. Evening All, A short video shot while I was on holiday in June: Hope you like it. TTFN, Ron.
  11. Going the other way, the Observation Car is always the rear vehicle. In the direction the train is going in this video, the last carriage is usually an FR profile one. The trains are vacuum braked throughout, so both parts would come to a stand in the event of the train dividing.
  12. LYD and RUSSELL starting away from Beddgelert with some splendid sound effects: Ron.
  13. Afternoon All, The Welsh Highland Heritage Railway were involved with the Welsh Highland Railway centenary celebrations in June as well as the Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railway. I had a couple of rides on the WHHR and the videos are on my YouTube channel if anyone would like to have a look: Hope they're of interest. TTFN, Ron.
  14. One of my daughters in on holiday in North Wales this week and sent me a short video of the new JAMES SPOONER: TTFN, Ron.
  15. Evening All, Whilst on holiday in South Devon, we had a boat trip on the River Dart from Dartmouth. Sadly, the paddle steamer that they use for these trips was at the menders, so a modern catamaran had to suffice: Hope it's of interest. TTFN, Ron.
  16. Now that Cross Country are no longer running HSTs on their long distance routes, the shot of one at Dawlish at the beginning of this short video might be of interest. My thanks to the driver for the entertaining use of the horn! TTFN, Ron.
  17. Evening All, The third and final part of my Worms Head rescue video is now on YouTube if anyone would like to have a look: Hope it's of interest. TTFN, Ron.
  18. Some interesting comments there. Dylan Thomas got cut off on Worms Head and had to spend the night there, so it seems that rescuing people wasn't on the agenda in those days. It's different now, and the coastguards call out the inshore rescue boat at least once every week or two in the summer season. I've only been there twice, and witnessed it on both occasions. One of the coastguards said that I'd better stop going there! Anyway, here's part two of my video showing the rescue operation: I look forward to further comments... TTFN, Ron.
  19. Evening All, On holiday on the Gower last week, I witnessed a rescue mission when some visitors got trapped on Worms Head by the rapidly rising tide. I took some video footage which I'm editing down to three instalments. The fist of these is now on YouTube if anyone would like to have a look: Hope it's of interest. Parts 2 and 3 will be published in due course. TTFN, Ron.
  20. Evening All, The final videos from the first day of the gala weekend are now on YouTube if anyone would like to have a look: Hope you like 'em. TTFN, Ron.
  21. Evening All, A visit to the Chemin de Fer d'Emosson in the Swiss Alps in 1998: Hope the videos are of interest. Ron.
  22. Yes, there were a few old taxis on display including a couple of Beardmores. They were quite unusual in their heyday, let alone now!
