  1. Another short clip from the Nene Valley Railway in 1995: Ron.
  2. Evening All, Shanklin Chine is a popular visitor attraction but, in 1944, it was one of the locations for P.L.U.T.O. - Pipe Lines Under The Ocean - which provided fuel for the Allies' vehicles as they advanced across France following the D-day invasion of Normandy. I took some video while I was there last year, and it can be seen on YouTube if anyone would like to have a look. I've broken it down into three bite-sized chunks for easier viewing: Hope it's of interest. TTFN, Ron.
  3. Morning All, The family holiday in 1998 was to the French Alps and, for convenience, we took the car on the Motorail from Paris. On the return journey I took some video and this is the first part: Hope it's of interest. TTFN, Ron.
  4. And now for the Grand Finale - a 22 carriage train hauled by no less than seven steam engines! Ron.

  9. On my way to the Spa Valley Railway I had a few minutes to spare whilst changing trains at Clapham Junction; so it was out with the phone: TTFN, Ron.

  21. You clearly know it well. Pre covid we frequented The Swan from time to time.
  22. I've walked it the other way round; i.e. from Frimley Lodge Park to Mytchett and back with a break for some tea and an ice cream in the café at the Canal Centre. The boat trips from the Canal Centre in the summer are worth doing, too. I've been to the aqueduct, but only by car.
