  1. Inspirational stuff. Some very lovely photos in a fantastic setting. Mike
  2. Progress was very limited when I was at home for the October half-term. Such is the way of life at the moment. Once I am back home permanently progress will happen more quickly. Just the small matter of the next seven months to get through and the potential of another warm summer. What global warming? Mike
  3. Enjoyed the update. Thanks for sharing the video. Mike
  4. Looking good Brian. Mike
  5. An interesting layout. I will be keeping an eye on your progress. Mike
  6. Lovely video. The 87 with sound is definitely very nice and brings back memories travelling from New Street Station when I was younger. Mike
  7. Enjoyed the video. Layout is looking good. Mike
  8. I like that idea a lot. One day I might get to the point where I need to consider some form of identifying what is where, but not yet! Mike
  9. Not sure how I missed this thread. Spent an enjoyable day catching up on the lot. The OLE looks very good, not sure if I have the patience or skill to attempt what you have done. Mike
  10. Unfortunately I ran out of time. After the last post, my wife and I were on holiday for most of August and I am now back in Kuwait, for what will be my final year. Various reasons, mostly I need to be back home, which does mean that the layout might start to make some more rapid progress, but not for another twelve months! I did manage a couple of sessions in the loft, which included fitting some cable trunking, only a small section, as I was keen to see if it would do what I hoped it would, which it did. I also added a steam loco to my fleet, 'City of Birmingham' with TTS. This means the Duchess I have will be returned to 'City of Nottingham' as my son will be studying at university there for the next three years. Hopefully some more progress in October and again at Christmas. Mike
  11. Great video, nice to see the progress you are making, as ever. Mike
  12. I have been back for about a month now and have made some progress on the layout, despite the lovely warm weather. I have fitted some colour light signal from Train-Tech, the sensor variety, now need to make the cable trunking to hide the wire connecting the signals. I have finally started work on building the platforms at Digby Junction station. Wiring of the branchline is complete, although some bits do need checking. Track needs to be cleaned in order to have a running session. I have also acquired a Class 50 from Hornby, which has been run in. At some point I will take photos and post them on here. Mike
  13. I like the look of the brick work. It is interesting how different ideas are used for this by different people. Yours certainly works well. I also like the idea for the points, might have to try that myself in a couple of places! Mike
  14. The change is looking good. Why does it always take us longer than we anticipate? Mike
  15. Nice to see the progress you have made so far. Mike
  16. Glad to hear that KM will continue and that latest video was just great! Mike
  17. I don't mind you getting the camera out and producing the kinds of photos you are producing. Take all the time you need! Mike
  18. Certainly looks good from a distance! Mike
  19. Enjoyed the videos. More please! Mike
  20. Just spent a very interesting time catching up on this. I am looking forward to seeing this develop further and hopefully one day seeing the layout at an exhibition. Mike
