  1. I am saddened to see this news as Warley used to be one of the highlights of the year for me, falling as it did around my birthday on the 25th. I say used to be, because I very reluctantly had to stop going 2 years ago as my own ageing and crumbling process meant I was no longer up to the rigours of Warley with all the walking and standing involved, so I have enormous sympathy for the club members who have themselves seemingly reached this point. Thank you Warley members, both present and past for putting on such a spectacle each year to celebrate my birthday.
  2. Merry Christmas Kevin and fellow Little Muddlers. Brian
  3. And we don’t get the benefit of Bank Holidays
  4. Let her in Roja. Let her in. I spent years of my life behind my barriers and met a lady who wanted to break them down and I’m so glad I did and she has enriched my life beyond measure. Brian
  5. Lovely layout. Looking forward to seeing this develop.
  6. Did you find the one for the sound of bacon and eggs sizzling on the fireman’s shovel? Brian
  7. I’m not able to load this. I’m getting a this post may have expired message. I certainly hope it’s not expired as you’ve only just got it running Brian
  8. I didn’t realise trains had different speed classifications. I thought everything was slow.
  9. Hope all goes well and that you have a speedy recovery. Brian
  10. You are not alone. Whilst I didn’t get there this year I regularly get lost at this show and marvel at how much I see after the event on YouTube showing what I missed.
  11. Excellent portrayal of the tarpaulins roping Kevin. Can I ask what adhesive you use please? Despite using cocktail sticks I seem to get in a heck of a mess. Brian And yes before I fall foul of the collective wit on here I do take the cherry and little umbrella off before using the stick
  12. I really enjoy building and weathering wagons and also making loads for them. Wagon building, or stripping and redoing them, is a great mojo restorer when enthusiasm dips. Brian
  13. That’s sounding like Trigger’s broom there. Brian
  14. That’s an absolutely stunning picture Kevin.
  15. Wonderful news for you all. Well chuffed at this outcome.
  16. I have built many things using Scalescenes kits as a base and they are easily adaptable to make into something completely different. Like Ben says, Prit Stick and similar are also my preferred adhesives as I find the Deluxe glue too messy. I do like the Scale Model Scenery wall though, and have just the spot for it, but it’s just a shame they don’t do matching goods yard style gates which is rather holding me back until I find something suitable. Brian
  17. I once came up with an anatomical theory that at the conclusion of a wedding ceremony, all males automatically start to grow inner ear flaps, which automatically lower to protect their male whenever their wife’s instructions/correctional guidance/exhortations to get on with the jobs list she prepared, or can I say nagging 😱 reaches a certain level. The triggering of said flaps can also be augmented by the occasional interjection of the phrase “yes dear” on the rare occasions when the dearly beloved pauses for breathe. Here endeth the wisdom of a divorced man who now has two bedrooms full of trains and layouts. Brian
  18. I think you might be thinking of Trebudoc
  19. Goodness. Way back when I remember it used to take a fortnight to get photos developed and even then sometimes they weren’t back even then.
  20. I have to say I am intrigued by your station because it doesn’t look long enough to cope with the long expresses you show on Shap. Have you achieved some sort of Tardis effect? Brian
  21. What amazes me is that Hermes rebranded to Evri yet persist in saying Evri previously Hermes. Really don’t understand the logic there.
  22. Aphids Mmmmm now there’s a modelling challenge
  23. I was once told to behave to which I replied I am behaving but badly
  24. And will you be having a stand at Chelsea next year
  25. My first time to Loughborough and this must be one of the most picturesque venues around with some stunning old trees around the car park I was in. Enjoyed seeing some old favourites and some new to me and it was nice to see a good selection of N One small suggestion for next year, but being on borrowed time as they say,I would have appreciated a few more seats in hall 4. I only saw 2 near the door and they were both occupied.
