  1. Surprised Discovery channels haven't made multi-part documentaries about the place https://www.historytoday.com/hitlers-british-lair
  2. It's full of little people; they had to go live down there when a new leisure centre was built. https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@52.5329433,-2.4172067,3a,75y,300.1h,90.91t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1s2sCSkL61lI5CRujg33EJeA!2e0!7i16384!8i8192?coh=205409&entry=ttu Some are posher than others https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/tiny-shropshire-cottage-boasts-impressive-cave-in-basement-a6821221.html and sheep live in 'em.
  3. Not necessarily. If end users have problems with getting inside or maintaining a model it will increase returns to stockist or manufacturer when things go wrong resulting in costs.
  4. Aren't you still a Gold member with digital issue access Phil?
  5. Sorry I missed this over the weekend John - Andy Y is a redundant account - obviously I'm AY Mod. I'll page @SteveCole to hopefully assist as, although I can see any transactions on that system (which is separate from RMweb), I can't access those maintenance functions for any account problems on World of Railways.
  6. Credit where it's due; I've spoken to the relevant party and they've taken the point on board and will look to improve the instructions.
  7. I'm sure if traders had got stock they'd have had it on the stands. Why wouldn't they? Are they hiding it from customers? 😉
  8. Now you're being ridiculous. 😉 But I completely agree.
  9. I don't think so; there are multiple factories in China offering their services. I get a couple of approaches a month as they think I'm a potential customer. TT120 is an easier product to assemble than much of the current 4mm output; fewer parts, less separately fitted detail.
  10. He doesn't normally bother with evidence.
  11. One part is possible but there's a whole basket load of barmy bits. Go on; tell me more how that's based on fact.
  12. But you extrapolated that to whether a magazine was healthy or not. Now I know you don't read some of them.
  13. I regularly grow a longer thumbnail for this (and operating camera thumbwheels) but I have many plastic razor blades around for feeling where they are. Or if you can get a fine spudger.
  14. Add in the increased annoyance of the concealed screw being in a concealed hole below a bogie. 🤬
  15. Whilst some manufacturers are making it easier to get inside bodies to carry out basic tasks some seem to be going the other way. Would it be too much for instructions to state the type and size of screwdriver that should be used? When trying to get an unseen screw to move inside a sunken hole can you be absolutely sure you've got the right tool for the job or whether it's been overtightened? The next tool was likely to be the bigommer.
  16. No; are they all on Facebook then? Are they all buying customers? Are they all modellers? Nobody will know. Are none of them members of more than one Facebook group? It sounds like you are Les. That's as skewed as Ravenser-reasoning at the other end of the spectrum. Let's just accept that there are reasonable levels of interest, obviously sufficient to maintain Hornby's ongoing interest.
  17. I'm sure I'd responded that individual current and back copies are available here https://www.world-of-railways.co.uk/Store/Back-Issues/british-railway-modelling including posting it out to you. Obviously that now contains Traction. We do need to make the right choices for the business; as Phil's explained we do have to run added value promotions to not just retain a place on the shelf but if they see an increase in sales the supermarkets in particular buy more copies and distribute them to more of the stores; something which has been happening for us over the last year.
  18. A strange assumption; maybe we're confident that readers may find something of interest in the bundled mags to make them more likely to buy one of those in the future?
  19. Those are all observations and opinions; can you not understand the difference between that and you stating things as facts? It really, really irritates me.
  20. Go on then; how can you qualify such a statement? Making facts up again? Well if you read BRM or looked at updates on World of Railways you would be marginally better informed.
  21. Penalties are always harsher weekends/holidays. 😁
  22. You won't have to suffer this topic any longer. Readers of this topic won't have to continue to suffer you.
  23. Javis do flexible lengths which are an approximation of stone walling. https://www.modelscenerysupplies.co.uk/n-gauge-flexible-walling-jstonens
  24. I'll check properly in the week but the whistles looked like it but felt plastic. Effective as you say.
  25. Obviously been reading the comments during their YouTube live stream of quarterly announcements. Comedy gold.
