James Makin's Workbench - 1990s dirty diesels & grotty wagons

I brought some 3D printed working wipacs from track 3d parts, they look really good, just need to wire them up for my 165. I really must get a 3D printer as the chassis on my one isn't great, and looks really dated because of the tooling NL -
Ah so it's succumbed to the Jacobs cracker branding also NL
-
They definitley look good when viewed, just getting them printed, but as Iron Mink has a contact ill probably drop him a message and see what he suggests NL
-
I did try to print the ion mink ones also, asked couple printers on Etsy but led nowhere, if anyone is able to find anywhere that is able to print these that'd be a big help NL

The switches turn the cab and tail lights on and off NL

There actually was an article on someone who did a fair bit on the underframe on the old RMweb, which I did on my model - sorry cant remember the name. If memory is correct, theres alot of pipework missing on the Hornby model, and the engines are too small and wrong. the Bachmann 150 lends itself here handily as alot can be transplanted off of that onto the Hornby model including the Gangways which Hornby messed up also Edit: I remember getting rid of the Hornby body and coverting a Dapol 155 as the share was much better, I have the remains of a Hurst models kit about to put up on the well known auction site. I think ive got a few images around somewhere also back when I was trying to improve my models when I had them NL

Wonder if that includes 37714? HTG have said "late April" with the models being shipped early May? NL -

Revised NSE would be great, but like others need need to recover from 37, two 31s and 50017 when it is released later this year! NL -
Hi Mike, Thank you for the name .. I wasnt sure what the name of the crossing was! Do you know if the industrial park was there in the 80s? it is a pity that as you say it prohibits the line via Loudwater to be repoened, which would rwally help the transport in the area, but thats progress sadly. Hi Neal, just read your thread, you have a nice layout, mine is based on Henley also, albeit around 50 years later NL

Good evening - heres photo stitch #1 all roughly in place, theres still some details that'll need editing, the BMW will be remove,d the solar panel on the building, and the business centre park sign also. This will be to the "side" of the station pr if you are in the station this would be what greets you as you exit (At bourne End) I may even edit in a blank space for the "House kit" to go on the right Thanks for stopping by NL

hi - so today as the weather was decent, it was time ot have break away from wiring etc. and get some more photos, for search and to do a photo stitch for the back scenes. it was nice walking around and getting plenty of inpsiration. heres the highlights of todays travels: After a lovely walkdown the footpath, it was over to Marlow and then along the footpath that runs parallel to the railway. Which was a mud and water bath, however I got this from one of the crossings: 165125, 2B30, 1203 Maidenhead to Marlow Then back of to Bourne End, just in time for the 1340 reversing to Maidenhead.. pity about the shadows.. Finally over to Henley-On-Thames to pictures of the station roof canopy, which im working on for Marlow End. Photographing railways, means I have the epuipment to get the camera high up.. the roof certainly has weathered alot of the years, something which will need to be replicated into the model More soon NL
